Yall feel me?

Golden has struck out big time in this department. He may be due for a biggie.

What?

Don't feed the trolls, Lu. They get all wet when you give them attention, and then multiply like gremlins.

He's struck out on on big time, out of state recruits that have visited in Dec. Jan.

Here is the list of kids that have visited from OOS, I guess Grimble was our big score. Preston committed earlier. The rest I think were 2 or 3 star kids we landed.

2011 - Pass since he came in Dec.
Dominique Terrell, VA
Devin Lucien, CA
Mason Harris, GA
Marqise Lee, SC
George Farmer, CA -Not sure if he even came
Byron Moore, CA
Jalen Grimble, NV
Antonio Poole, OH
Patrick Onwuasor, CA
Chris Barnett, TX
David Moala, CA
Dalton Botts,CA
Ray Drew, GA
John Jenkins, MS
Josue Matias, NJ
Antonio Kinard, VA
Ryan Malleck, NJ
Matt Goudis, CA
Jermaine Whitehead, MS
Marcus McDade, VA
Albert Louis-Jean, VA
Olsen Pierre, VA

2012
Darius Hamilton, NJ
Josh Harvey-Clemons, GA
Davante Bourque, LA
Jacoby Briscoe, LA
Jontavious Carter, GA
Jake O'Donnell, PA
Aaron Boesch, CA
Eddie Goldman, DC
Gerald Bowman, CA
Denico Autry, MS
Greg Garmon, PA
Robert Lockhart, VA
Preston Dewey, TX
Cameron Cole, KS
Ladarius Gunter, KS

Now consider that this was in the midst of another "mediocre" season, Nevingate, and a new coach. The fact that he got all these profile guys to get on campus is amazing enough. Who cares if he doesn't close at a high rate? The fact is he gets them here on campus.

Who really gives a crap about close out percentages? If he gets 200 high profile kids to visit and gets 12 of them to sign, no one is going to care about the 188 kids that didn't sign. They're only going to care about the 6% of quality kids he did get here to mix with the 2 to 3 stars players.

People keep saying Miami has been able to bring in 5 stars for last minute visits and turn them, can anyone provide examples please?

Jalen Grimble, Seantrel chose USC because his dad wanted him to he was all Miami after the late jan visit.. Arthur Brown remember he was a EE so he had to decide early but he got on to him very late , Andrew Johnson rb from PA big bust... Dwayne Hendricks out of NJ visiyed Miami right before signing day..

We were on Brown very early.

You dont get elite OOS prospects when you have looming sanctions and a mediocre record.

With Golden at the helm, when we get back on track, the OOS guys will be there a lot more often. Anyone with a brain understands this.

My son and I know Quon personally. He and Quon went to school their Fr and So years together. Quon was a horrible QB his Fr year. My son was much better and eventually won out toward the middle to end of year. He was told he was switching to WR his So year and that is exactly what most of us were telling him that year up there at Crete.

He lit it up and I think had almost 1000 yards his So year receiving.

He's a very good talent, he's a great kid and would be a steal to get here.

That said, I already know he isn't coming here. My son talks to him all the time and he's pretty strong leaning to OU and Michigan. I am surprised he wants to come down, but I think its to get rid of the bug in his ears a few of us put in his head 2 yrs ago and I told him he'd be a star here.

I'll contact him and ask more.

With our passing offense it's got to be intriguing to him... Thx for the info

Golden has struck out big time in this department. He may be due for a biggie.

You do know that Golden hasn't been at Miami for 20 years right?
He was hired and thrown into the fire at the 11th hour trying to get some kind of 1st recruiting class, sandbagged by an NCAA investigation, and a whole team that couldn't bench press their baby sisters.

You guys should go read Jimmy Johnson's book about his time in Miami and at the Cowboys because minus the NCAA crap Jimmy's transition to the Cowboys reads a lot like Golden's transition to Miami.

This coming year is going to be a big year for us nationally. I'm thinking ACC champions and after that ......I don't want to jinx it but you know where I'm headed.
I can't think of an offense I'd take over Miami's next year. I can think of quite a few defenses but we haven't seen our 2013 defense yet.
One thing we do know is that our defense is going to be better than last year. How much better?
Our guys will all be bigger, stronger, faster, and most importantly smarter.
I'll say it again, if we transform into a top 50 defense nobody will be able to outscore us. One less TD surrendered a game makes the 2013 Hurricanes a National Championship contender.
Our schedule is not out yet but we know who the toughies will be. UF with a suspect offense and key pieces leaving their defense, FSU who is going through wholesale changes across the board and will be breaking in a new qb, VT whose time is over.

Going to be a big year in 2013. Real big.

Ok, as promised:

He's narrowed it down to 3 schools already. Michigan, Oklahoma, and one other one of my son's friends couldn't recall the 3rd. Here is the statement I got:

"Quon just wants a free trip to Miami because he's never been there. Beyond that, I know he doesn't have Miami on his radar."

If I were Miami, I'd ask for a commitment publicly before coming down. Just my $0.02

Well, as long as he's not actively recruiting for another school on his visit then bring him down.....you never know. He could fall in love with the city, etc.

I would tell him to stay home.

we got smart coaches. if they think this kid is game playing then he won't get a plane ticket. and if he does come and starts ******* around with other recruits then the visit will get cut short, no?

Yep. Kids get sent home. The staff knows what's up.
