Yeah - maybe that means he’s happy and locked in - still think it’s fair to speculate with his relationship with ward
Here’s the post:
His nil deal sucks , he’d walk to Coral Gables if we’d have him.

**** no, hard pass on all of themHard Pass???
So roll with Emory or Nickel??
He would be fine for a 1 year stop gap into a 2026 Nickel season.
If UM went all in trying to get Drones, I don't think it would be difficult for UM to outpay VT by a factor of 2X (at a minimum). Then Drone's faced with a decision between the schools. 1. Do I return to a school paying me half of what I could have received? 2. Do I return to a dying program with a coach that will 100% be fired next year and which 8 of its best players have left in the portal? 3. Do I return to a school with an inferior offensive line and offensive coordinator? 4. Do I go to a school where the proof of concept of a QB increasing his draft stock has been proven. What would the rational decision for Drones be?I never comment on here but I am confused on how you believe Drones is available. Everything out of VT and him is he is returning to the team for 2025. I’d assume he signed is $$$ deal & the portal has closed (wait they just played so scratch that). Back to original. $$$$
So do we want him? I always liked drones potential... i think hed do really well behind miamis OL.... I need some good QB news! His nil deal sucks , he’d walk to Coral Gables if we’d have him.
QBs can improve though... and the talent here is going to be much better than he had at VT. I'm just not sure what other realistic options at this position there's going to be this year. And miami still has a few other holes to fill elsewhereNah. I think Milroe would scare most opposing teams (both fans and DCs) 10x more than Drones. Both can’t throw the ball but Milroe I think is more polished than Drones.
With an improved defense though I see a path to 9-10 wins with Drones. We would need a top 10 rushing offense but that’s definitely doable.
One thing is for **** sure though. Drones here would have us frustrated week in, week out. He will make some stupid plays and miss some wide open throws / easy reads.
At one point no, but things have changed the last few weeks with the qb board:So do we want him? I always liked drones pote potential... i think hed do really well behind miamis OL.... I need some good QB news!
how many years does he have? Only 1, right? He would fit the bill as a bridge guy for Nickel, tooAt one point no, but things have changed the last few weeks with the qb board:
You're talking to the scumbag who brags on this platform for taking pictures behind players backs and ****talking them in public.Hard Pass???
So roll with Emory or Nickel??

Yeah I agree. Just think Milroe is the scarier QB of the two. I think ND would be really worried about facing Milroe and less concerned with Drones.QBs can improve though... and the talent here is going to be much better than he had at VT. Money and situation talks.I never comment on here but I am confused on how you believe Drones is available. Everything out of VT and him is he is returning to the team for 2025. I’d assume he signed is $$$ deal & the portal has closed (wait they just played so scratch that). Back to original. $$$$
Those deals means a little, just look at the NC State guys that had their NIL renew only to enter the portal again.I never comment on here but I am confused on how you believe Drones is available. Everything out of VT and him is he is returning to the team for 2025. I’d assume he signed is $$$ deal & the portal has closed (wait they just played so scratch that). Back to original. $$$$
Swap Drones into that situation surrounded by all that talent and great offensive mind HC.Don't agree with this take. Drones is better than Milroe.
At least Nickel is already on campus and working out with the team ... learning the playbook. Kaaya was NOT an early enrollee, arrived in June, and was given the starting nod. Nickel will have 8 months to get acclimated, work with receivers, have full Spring practice. He should be better prepared than Kaaya was.Nickel is great but when has starting a true freshman worked out for a team? Most recent guy I can think of is Trevor Lawrence. We need a bridge QB
Drones is a Heisman caliber QB. Yall are absolutely crazy. He would destroy it at Miami. He has all the talent in the world.
Virginia Tech was dog water. Terrible receivers dropping passes left and right, even worse offensive line. It’s a lot like Cam Ward at Washington State. He was winning games by himself.
He’s an A+ athlete and playmaker. He has the escapability of Cam Ward. He’s got a great accurate arm and he throws guys open. He has elite accuracy on the move and while rolling out. He also has a cannon. Pair him with Branch or someone who can get behind the defense and profit.
We would convert every third and short and be nearly unstoppable in the red zone with our OL and his athleticism.
The only complaint I have about Drones is he has a slow long looping release. Ward had an elite quick release. That can be s problem because it lets defenses break on the football. But he would give college defenses so many problems, he’s a take for me all day and I think we maintain a top 10 offense with this guy.
Oh find someone better, why didn’t we all think of that**** no, hard pass on all of them
Find someone better, not trying to go 6-6 with these bums
Taken him and our rushing attack will be elite next year. He’s actually not a bad passer either. This dude is seeming more and more like a legitimate option with each passing moment, especially with his relationship with ward
what is everyone's thoughts if he enters the portal?
candidly, I'm not a huge fan. Would rather ride with nickel, but admit if he's fully healthy, his legs and the rushing threat could help a ton next year
he's out tonight with non-serious injury, should be back

And Trevor Lawrence didn’t even start for the first half of that season. They started him halfway through the season that year.Nickel is great but when has starting a true freshman worked out for a team? Most recent guy I can think of is Trevor Lawrence. We need a bridge QB
Soooo… is MC really looking at him right now?Swap Drones into that situation surrounded by all that talent and great offensive mind HC.
Then put Milroe in Blacksburg. I think both would look different.
Situation is as important as anything with qb. If I have more time to pass receivers have longer to get open with bigger throwing windows. Better coaching produces layup completions. Lastly it’s much easier to throw when you know you won’t be pressured. Comparing playing QB at Bama versus VT is silly.
If Mahomes is drafted in Chicago we’re having a different conversation with the trajectory of his career.
Btw I’m not saying Drones will hit the portal or would be great I’d just expect a better version of himself here with this offense / staff. He’s currently coached by a guy that looks like he installs mufflers at Midas. He coaches like it too.
