keys to the game...

FSU has shown that they are excellent in throwing down the field. D'Onofrio in my mind is VERY unlikely to challenge that. Generally, the goal of major underdogs is to stay in the game so that the favorite gets nervous late, not to force the issue. I doubt we'll be different. He is going to play FSU with kid gloves and try to stifle them inside the 10. Sending a bunch of guys at Winston and isolating outside is a recipe for disaster. They have proven that and I don't think that we're SO good on the outside that we'll be all that different, especially considering that our safeties are a mess right now in terms of coverage.

like I said, I hope to see a lot of McCord and AQM for more plays than usual. I think we might get pressure with them as opposed to green and chickillo.

hey stat...def all valid argments you make...I just think the biggest advantage fsu's defense will have is the crowd...florida before the injuries just seems like a bigger, stronger, more athletic defense. I'm not about to say fsu has a bad defense but i guess to these eyes the ***-terds just have more pure talent.

Pressure Winston and Morris needs to have an efficient game. Unfortunately I'm not confident in either happening. We've struggled to get any type of pass rush this season outside of a couple games.

For us to win, Morris needs to throw for probably 400 yards with no picks. They will score points, the only way we win is if we stay close to them. They probably have the best QB in the country, at least the best I've seen, tough to over come that this year. We need to pull out every stop we can, Coley needs to call plays out of the box, not sure he has it in him. Not sure he has even planned anything out of the box. We also have to get to their qb, we need to send one of the small quick guys from the outside like State does. Don't get to him and it will be a long long game.

throw for 400 yards is the only way we can win? we throw for 400 yards we win. don't need that to happen. need to run some and shorten the game and have a shot at the end.
I think Winston is good. he hasn't had a bad game. not sure if he's faced a defense and athletes like we have. maybe Clemson.
c'mon, coley has it in him.

I do not think the answer if blitzing Winston and causing massive lanes for him to run in. If/ when we blitz, we have to create a pocket and collapse the pocket around him, I do not want his legs to beat us by scrambling around. I'm actually not sure if putting McCord and AQM on the line at the same time is a good idea. I would like to see OP/ Renfrow etc getting pressure from the NT/DT position and Green/ Chickillo containing Winston in the pocket and hopefully we can rattle him that way. Just my opinion.

Why would they load up to stop our run? Do they have any idea of what will happen if they let Morris loose?

Explain please?

I'm not sure we can pressure Winston at all from either the front four or on blitzes. Unless something changes I expect Winston to have a good amount of time to throw the ball.

On the other side, I think FSU is going to be in our backfield a lot on passing downs. Morris has not shown much ability to move around in the pocket and he'll need to be able to do this a bit or else he'll be on his back all night long.

Do you see it playing out differently and if so, what have you seen to make you think that?

If I played Miami, I would not let Duke/ Crawford beat me. Make Morris show me his delivery/ mechanics are back. He hasn't done anything in 1.5-2 months to show that he can beat you.

smoke,
see above. blitz morris and crowd the line and stop the run. morris, lately, hasn't shown he's gonna beat too many people. I hope he comes out and shows everyone up.

Close to it, yes! This will be the best D we have faced since Florida and we had 50 yards rushing, that's right, 50 yards. Anyone who thinks we can run enough on them to win this game is crazy. Our offensive line is not great with the running game by any means. We can't throw, this game is over. Morris needs to run for a few first downs too. Winston is good? Kidding right? the kid is lights out so far, he will smoke our secondary unless we get to him. You think I like admitting FS has the best QB in the country? Hardly! Our D has been just good enough to win against average teams, FS has not been in the ball park of being average this year. Not sure about Coley yet, his play calling is just a little to conservative for me. With a great team like ALA you can get away with it, we are not ALA.
