we are gonna have to run the ball, convert on 3rd downs, shorten the game.
I think fsu is gonna load up to stop the run and dare morris to beat them. morris is going to have to be on. we are going to have to take our shots down field. I think we see some screens and I think walford has a big day.
if we go 3 and out for the 1st few series and fsu scores on their 1st few series, it could be a blowout.

on defense, if we don't get pressure with our front 4 and then don't blitz, he will find open wrs deep downfield as he always does.

we are gonna have to win the turnover battle and maybe get a pick 6 or a fumble deep on their side or a punt return for a td.

maybe a trick play w/ a half back pass.

It's all about Morris, he plays well we have a chance. He doesn't it doesn't matter what else happens. I don't think they will load the box. They are going to go in thinking they can beat us straight up, and won't take any risks to stop either our running or passing games. That may change if we are able to run on them. We will likely hve to pass to open the run in this game. If we can't do that, it's going to be a long day.

↑ All of that yes. We must also limit their 3rd down conversions. We need to force a few 3 and outs.

I think they play to stop the run, thinking morris can't beat them and their dbs can hang w/ our wrs. i'd love to see walford get about 5-7 catches.
wish we had dorsett to stretch the field, but, we are relatively healthy. coley may have to have a big day.
thinking we see a lot of quan and McCord. or hoping.

Disagree somewhat. We don't need Morris to have a 20-26, 285, 2-0 type of game. We just need him to be efficient and not throw INTs. I'll go so far to say that if he doesn't throw any INTs, we win. He could throw for 165 yards but as long as he doesn't throw INTs, we win.

Our key is our OL. They have to dominate both in rushing and passing. We do that and we win.

Biggest concerns:
1. We seem to be very reactive schematically - at least on defense. If we're reactive against FSU after we're down 14-0 or 21-0 we aren't coming back, they will hang 50. Let's dictate how the game is going to be right out of the gate for a change.
2. They will no-doubt make Morris beat them, and I'm highly skeptical he's able to do that right now - and I'm highly skeptical we're going to be able to consistently run against 8 also. Even if he's on, their secondary is very good. We've got to utilize Walford heavy heavy heavy, it's really the only favorable matchup I see when we're on offense.
3. We have been at our absolute worst in the red-zone and on 3rd down - which will probably be the 2 biggest factors in this game.

If we utilize the middle of the field with our TEs/WRs and do some middle screens to Duke and Crawford, they're LBs will have to stay home which will open up some running lanes and allow us to eat some clock. They blitz a lot so the WR screens and RB screens could go for some big gains. Morris is going to have to play well. Athletically, we match up everywhere. We need to hit Winston early and hard to try and rattle him. He's not been hit much all season. We MUST tackle well on the short passes to prevent the big play.

This game comes down to both lines. We need the OL to open up holes and give Morris time and we need the DL to contain Winston and get pressure.

IMO we need to weather the storm early and get an early TD and anything can happen. We can't affod to let them come out and run up an down the field like they did against Clemson.

Yup. FSU will load the box to stop the run, and they will likely pressure Morris via stunts and blitz.

That's the prescription for beating UM.

Morris will have to prove them wrong...he *must* play well for UM to have a chance to win.

1. Morris needs to pull his head out of his *** and show up to this game

2. Both lines need to dominate from start to finish

3. Rattle Winston. Make sure he gets remember me shots early and often

To me, we have to do to FSU what FSU has done to others. Smack them quick with a couple big plays so they know this isn't every other week. Like we almost did to ND but failed to... We may have lost that game still but not in that fashion. They need to get shocked in a way they haven't this season.

they are going to be believing their sht don't stink all week no matter what the coaches do. This is more of a mind game, for both sides, in order for miami to win. I think it's possible. Then the run game shortens the game.

sack up boys.

blessing and a curse...while it's reassuring that we have a staff, especially defensively, that has shown the ability to make great halftime adjustments...it is still frustrating that we almost chalk up the first half of games to dictate our response. I'd like to see us be less james toney and more hagler in this game.

to me the absolute BIGGEST key to this game is bringing pressure FROM THE START...we've all begged for more blitzing, if we don't blitz in this game winston will pick us apart plain and simple...we have to mix up our fronts and bring pressure, if ever there was a time to exploit our 3/4 techniques, this is it.

again, i'd like to see and hope we see more quan and McCord this game, even in not so obvious passing downs.

Their defense has had to load the box all season. I don't think they will start off loading up against us either. If that happens I think it will be product of an adjustment if our running game gets off to a good start. I hear everyone talking bout we have to take shots down the field. I on the other hand disagree. I think this game is all about Check Downs, Runs after Catch, Power Running and clock management. There is no need for us to be risky and greedy in the beginning. Their D is the best that we will face. We have to slow them down and wear them out. Take quick shots down the field will only do two things for us which both hurt us. Leaves us susceptible for an INT, or we score fast putting their offense on the field without giving our defense time to recup and adjust. Recipe for disaster against a team this good. We HAVE to control that clock and keep the ball away from Famous Aaaaanusss!

Oh and for Defense....hit Famous **** every opportunity we have. Before he releases the ball, after he releases the ball. He needs to hear footsteps every play. I don't care how we choose to get it done. Just make sure there is someone in his face at all times. He has shown that he can still throw an accurate pass in the face of a blitz but seldom does he ever get hit or rocked after throwing said pass. That has to change in this game. I'll take a few yellow flags to welcome him to the rivalry!

I think we take shots down field b/c they feel they can play us to stop the run and dare morris to beat them.

I think uf's defense is the best defense we will face.

I agree but we're going to have to be a helluva lot better on offense than we were that game if we want to be in position to win late in the 4th.

i respectfully disagree...the florida defense we faced was better than FSU def

This should be the game that puts McCord on the National map. We need him on the field more than he's been on it all year, and he will make plays. It's just what he does.
