It seems like everyone on here has written off kevin Olsen and is hoping for kayaa to start over him. Just wondering what has happened in the past year that has changed him from baby Jesus to not being cared about?

What happened?

Golden tried to motivate the young buck through the media. The experts took that as he wasn't putting in work. Add that the Mel Kiper/Todd McShay of CiS has wrote him off as a bum, and anointed Kaaya the next Elway.

I don't think it was pot, I think he just thought because he was highly recruited he didn't have to put work in. Golden called him out on it. It's easily correctable.

People here don't like him because he tweets his GF "too much", which is just stupid. Pete doesn't care for him due to his man crush on Kaaya.

I still have high hopes for him.

Fans love to ride the new ****, watch if we happen to get Gibson they'll be expecting him to start as soon as he steps on campus.

This. Plus the bowl "suspension" and it really equaled a year of nothing positive about the kid. Not sure what we expected to hear during a redshirt year but the fact that most people are betting that Williams gets the nod only adds to that feeling of a lack of excitement about him now. Factor in Kaaya saying all the right things and it exacerbates that.

All that is forgotten instantaneously if he beats out Williams as it'll be viewed as him having been a lot better since people think Golden is stacking the deck against him in favor of a senior. I've said it before but our best case scenario progression-wise at that position is for Olsen to start at minimum the next 2 yrs. Even saying that isn't enough for the Olsen Sensitivity Brigade that has seemingly showed up recently though. I've yet to determine if they're truly fans (or family) of his or it's just people playing contrarian to the lovefest Kaaya is getting.

Yup, it's all about that new ****. It's been that way for years. The incoming recruit is ALWAYS better than the players on the roster.

I hope Sunshine balls the **** out and exposes these wanna be gurus.

I don't care who starts, it's just nice to finally see our QB depth where a Miami roster should be. The greentree battles should be epic,

Isn't this the truth ... I remember the first time. I saw Kyle Wright at practice, thought he was a future HOFer. Then games came around and he fell when he saw a defender.

I watched him Thursday for an hour. He is very capable of winning games for us. Some on here are not used to red shirts etc. Its how you build a champion. Kaaya has to sit

i agree. i would RS Kaaya unless he came in and proved from day 1 he was the better QB then either of the other 2.

2. Olsen
3. Crow

Kaaya - RS
 
How would you guys feel about playing Olsen for a series or two in games? Just in case Williams runs away with it in the rest of this camp and the fall?

I don't think it will be have a 2 QB system, it will just be for getting Olsen ready for action and to get him reps.

2014- Ryan starter
2014- redshirt K dub

2015 - Olsen starts as Rs. Sophomore
2016 - Olsen has awesome year enters draft as rs. Junior

2017- K dub takes over as rs, junior

I would be very happy if this happens, but when was the last time Miami had a QB that was good enough to leave school early?

If Williams wins it, then Olsen shouldn't go in games unless Williams is struggling mightily or we are blowing a team out.
