Kevin Beard's Impact on Recruiting

The Dawson hire opened recruits eyes. Mario told them there’d be a drastic change to the scheme and he wasn’t married to a system. He out his money wjere his mouth was and delivered. Now prove it on the field and it’ll be flooding skill guys.
As myself and many others have said, the hire that will drive the boat in regards to our offensive recruiting will be Dawson. Beard could be Hartline 2.0 and it would not matter if the offense doesnt show life. Mario showed us last what we have know for a while now, kids want to come to Miami, Miami just has to give them a reason.

WRDiontae JohnsonPittsburgh Steelers / 3rd / 66th pick / 2019

Johnson was a 3rd round pick in the 2019 draft following his final collegiate season in 2018. Beard became Toledo’s WR coach for the 2019 season as he was merely their recruiting coordinator in 2018. Johnson put up a monster stat line in 2017 before Beard served any role at Toledo.

Hopefully Beard kills it now that he’s back, but there’s no need to falsely credit him for the development of someone for whom he was never the position coach.

Speaking of Jerjuan

If Beard can pull Newton, TVD is going to eat.

In the day of RINGS we’d break the huddle and opponents would WTF who to cover and who could actually handle there man.
And never knowing who’s getting the ball as we’re checking off reads and hand signals.

Knowing everyone is in sync with reads.

GOCANES

The QB having phone numbers of the skill guys should be an immediate help…😜

****, lost a lot of credibility as soon as Luke's tweet was included........
Y'all can talk that **** on Luke if you want to because you hate him, but he's plugged into SF kids and knows we have a great hire in KB.

No cred with you, but he does in the community where it counts.

Ray Ray played for Luke. He could have played at any high school. So, you guys are bad mouthing the coach of kids we're trying to recruit. It doesn't help the program.

What does that say to recruits and their parents?

Oftentimes perception becomes reality. Both of them made a business decision and IDK if Corey Raymond was here if anything changes. It's a massive whiff because he was their HC. May not be fair, but it's a tough business and the expectation is if you bring in a HC he better bring his 5* with him. That's why the NCAA changed the rules regarding bringing on HS coaches.

In the end, they made the right business decision
In my opinion, You’re vastly overestimating the impact that a position coach has in recruiting

People don’t go to bama, osu, uga, Clemson because of position coaches, that’s just a fact. They also don’t decide not to come here due to position coaches

With recruiting I agree. It gets overrated a bit. Results on the field, development and money are the selling points. Especially in the nil world. Just don’t be arrogant or lazy like some people.

I think part of that is because we know the names of a lot of position coaches because they were glorified bagmen in the past

Things have shifted a bit when it comes to those things

Since there's a lot of questions about Beard's effectiveness as a recruiter, we'll track his impact here.

There's very few (if any) more plugged into the SFL receiver recruiting scene than @Stevo365

Current recruiting cycle coaches

Key 4*/5* reaction

With Beard and the new OC that alone with give us a chance at any athlete in South Florida
