Keion Payne

What a DB class it was: Keion Payne, Jeremy Davis, D'vonta Davis, Latwan Anderson, Kacy Rodgers

Honestly that is pathetic. BTW, 12 kids from the 2010 class either never made it in or are off the team. Go RANDY!

Wow. Somebody kill that guy. He single handedly tried to murder this program

All right, my first IGNORE USER on this site!

Worst CB I've ever seen practice. Really WOAT. We passed on Cody Riggs for this bum. Peace ninja. Go to FIU where you belong

No sense in back tracking now. You used to argue with that awkard chump about how Payne was better than Riggs.

Oh don't you try to put that on me. That was YOUR ***.

Sink with your ship like a man homie.

Too be honest its not like Riggs would have helped us... The kid works hard but he's very suspect... Lets be honest if we would have signed Riggs and he performed like he's doing at UF our fanbase would have went in an uproar... One thing for sure at least he contributes to UF... Payne never contributed because he was always doing something stupid... I dont understand... The 2010 class was talented but was ridiculed on so many levels and these guys never used that as fuel... The 2010 class should have been proving people wrong...

Breaking Down the 2010 Class:

Darion Hall
Storm Johnson
Keion Payne
Tavadis Glenn
Andrew Tallman
D'vonta Davis
Kevin Nelson
Travis Williams
Jermaine Barton
Delmar Taylor
Jeffrey Brown
Latwan Anderson

Either never made it in or were kicked off the team. How many of those guys are/or will be in D1 programs in the future?

That leaves:

Sentrel Henderson
Asante Cleveland
Jimmy Gaines
Kelvin Cain
Brandon Linder
Chase Ford
Allen Hurns
Eduardo Clements
David Perry
Tyrone Cornilius
Stephen Morris
Clive Walford
Kacy Rodgers
Maurice Hagans
Jonathon Feliciano
Shane McDermott
Malcolm Bunche

Obviously the OL is well represented with Linder, Feliciano, Henderson, McDermott, Bunche (who came in the next year), which possibly could be our starting OL. There is some potential there but its a do or die year for a lot of these kids. Still hitting on 18 of 30 kids is not good, especially when a few look like non factors and one already graduated (Ford).

Yea that is bad but all of those guys were talented ball players... We were just unlucky with their results... You can't predict that... We took chances on certain kids like Anderson and Johnson and it dint work out... But when we signed them everyone loved them... Unfortunately they werent mentally prepared for college...

FWIW, I know for a fact a lot of people predicted the results of D'vonta Davis, Andrew Tallman, and Jeff Brown (although not how he went out). A few of those other guys were projects like Barton and Taylor (who didn't make it). Then you had a few knuckleheads, not which I'd call high character kids, in Storm, Payne, Williams, Anderson, and Glenn.

Not shore if cereus.

I would have liked for TRavis Williams to stick around. Would have been starting at SLB and been an improvement.

Anderson's speed would have been nice in that slow secondary from last year.

Storm would be nice to have around this year. Crazy father, but still tons of talent.

even Tallman. I thought he looked best at DL in his high school footage. But at TE we lost Cory White and Blake Ayles. Tallman could have filled that blocking TE role and Dye could have stayed at DL.

I was big on Devonta Davis from the practices I saw while Randy was still coach in 2010. I know most don't feel the same way, but I thought he'd turn into a player.

I knew Kevin Nelson would transfer pretty quick. All the other LBs who came in looked better immediately. Plus he was like 20 and they were 18. Their upside was higher.

Nites, why show your face in this thread? You argue that Shannon built Miami back up but he signed Payne, Davis, Davis, Anderson, and Rodgers as his DB class in 2010. Rodgers is the only guy left and he's shown very little.

Your point is meaningless. Recruting/ team make up is evoling meaning he could have adressed those issues at a different point in time. This is no different than ohio st in late 90's iirc when they brought in DB's richard mcnutt, bobby britton, harlon jacobs, curtis crosby, maurice lee and will allen and only will allen did anything. The DB issue was addressed in later classes ie switching chris gamble from wr to db etc.

Shannon built the team up talent wise from the time he took over to the time he left rather you wanna acknowldge it or not. The nfl draft, all acc selections, guys starting in the nfl are all that are needed. They speak for themselves.

That's the dumbest **** I've ever read. You are saying its fine to absolutely tank a whole DB class because you can address it later? I can see the line of thinking, "Wasting 5 scholarship is perfectly fine, we will take care of it later. No big deal. Don't worry that monster DB class of Davis, Davis, Anderson, Payne, and Rodgers will add well to the previous monster DB class of Brandon McGee, Jamal Reid, Prince Kent, and RRA."

9 DBs in 2 years and 3 are left on the team, Brandon McGee, Kacy Rodgers, and RRA, all of which have been disappointments leading up to this year.

Nobody said it was fine. learn how to read. I'm just pointing out it happens alot in cfb and teams/coaches get around it. I just gave you an example using ahia st. LMAO. Do you need more?

Do you think this is the first time this has ever happened to a cfb team especially after a coaching change?

Diegocane Miami nites just pwoned you!!!... lol... He does have a point. I think Florida did that as well by loading up on guys like powell, martin, floyd, etc. but if you remember they had previous classes of guys like patchan,howard,trotter,etc.. who were terrible.(by their standards).. so it goes both ways.
