here's a play that stood out to me when rewatching the game.

i swear that i'm not on a death march against Kacy, even though my YouTube account may make it seem otherwise.

i have no clue what he was thinking on this down. the entire play developed right in front of him and he completely whiffed on the tackle. it wasn't a huge deal in the grand scheme of things, but he needs to pick up his slack.

sorry for the not-so-great quality, had to use my phone to get the video off my dvr (yeah i know, i hate it when people do that too)

Kacy starts the play at the 45 yard line by BC's logo

You're right. A good player, or a natural player, makes that play. He just doesn't seem like anything comes naturally to him out there.

Watching that, I just can't help but think what Sean Taylor would have done to that poor kid...

That's a tackle he should make, no doubt. However, had that been Telemaque, he wouldn't have even gotten that good of an attempted tackle in--he would have dove right past and whiffed completely. It's debatable that he would have even reacted to the slant there. That's a major issue for our defense--we do not defend the slant. The main reason is, our CB's probably see it coming, but can't gamble on it for fear of a double-move pointed at either Telemaque or Rodgers if the CB gets beat. That has to get fixed.

Unless Telemaque/Rodgers clean this stuff up and fast, do not be surprised to see us ride w/Bush and Jenkins at safety in the near future. They'll make Freshmen mistakes too, sure, but they won't be any worse than Rodgers and especially Telemaque were on Saturday.

and it's nice to note that that was a 2nd and 13.

Kacy missed the tackle to bring it to a 3 and 4/5, and instead let BC get the first down.

Ed Reed gets 6 there.

Rettig never looked anywhere but that spot. Rodgers was even locked on the area, just never did anything about it.

Like I said before, softest ************ alive. Go watch the early play on a blown coverage(think it went to a TE or RB) and watch him try to bear hug the guy. Luckily, the sideline made the tackle for him.

Best hit I've ever made in my entire life came on a play just like that, except it was Cover 3. Post flowed right at me. This has nothing to do with this play other than the fact it took me to a happy place. Ok, have a nice day.

So r the "black" jerseys just "try hard" awards or what. This kid just doesnt look very good. I hope he can start making some plays but all I can think of is that soft *** play against fsu.

The worst part is he wasnt the last line of defense. He should have gambled and jumped the route knowing that if he missed the pick it wasnt and TD. No awareness at all.

You can't knock Kacy for that play. He actually read the play and sniffed it out pre snap which was awesome. That was a big time throw. The BC QB put that in a small window and threaded the needle.

If that ball was high or thrown a second late than Rogers has that INT. He read that route from the jump but the QB made a big time throw to squeeze the ball in between defenders

Look at Telemaque on the play. Dude just straight dips 25 yards off the LOS and out of the play.

I swear to god we're terrified of the deep ball. Spot zone, prevent defense is so F'in lame to watch (can't imagine how lame it is to play in).

I know it sounds like a broken record but ffs let's get these kids playing press man - simple cover 2 or 1 safety over the top. There's no way BC burns us deep at any point in the game if we do this.

We might get beat on some occasional crossing patterns... but god **** I'll take that over this retched prevent a win zone hogwash.

You want to play press man coverage with no pass rush? God help your defense because you will give up at least 10 plays over 40 yards

Even if all of that was true, what about the complete whiff of a tackle? Are we supposed to give him a pass there too?

/I know, don't feed the troll, but I couldn't resist.

That play was actually very encouraging. His pre-snap read was very good. He knew that route was coming. He was just a hair short of making that play. Those are the things you want to see out of your players.

Not a knock on anyone but it takes practice to watch film. You guys missed a glaring problem which allowed that play to produce yards.

Mcghee did not read the play at all. The receiver tipped his route early into that play. Mcgee needed to cut off the inside of the field and force the receiver to the sidelines. After the snap, Mcgee took a outside release. Once he did that the play was over. Also it would have been nice for Mcgee to at least get a jam. With a Jam, Kacy Rogers is no longer a hair late but now "On time"

So if anyone blew that play it was Mcgee

someone explain; why is Mcgee that close to the wr yet when the ball is snapped he doesnt touch the wr?

Send 5, press, and play cover 1 behind it.
We got a pick 6 doing this.
