Kaaya Lions

What do you guys think the RPO is? It's simply just reading the defense and deciding if you should hand it off or pass based on the numbers. How does that expose anyone's weakness?

Here's the fact: Kaaya didn't have his best year. It was his first year in a new offense so that should have been expected. You could easily assume that he would have done better in the second year in the system. So it just makes sense to come back and build your draft stock in that situation.

What was his best year?

That's a good question. His stats look pretty consistent year-to-year. Which isn't really a good thing because it doesn't show improvement.

Rich is the coach and didn't mishandle anything.

Not true.. he mishandled a LOT! We shouldn't have ran that weak a$$ RPO offense. We should've just let Kayaa sling it like we did at the end of the year. As a coach you gotta run the system based on your players, not just try to fit players into systems they CAN NEVER SUCCEED IN (reminds me of someone)! Kayaa would've been a top 5 pick without the RPO. The RPO really exposed Kayaas weaknesses IMO. We shouldve just focused on kayaa strengths and let him do his thing. Should've scored 40 points per game with all that talent we had on offense. Our Play calling was horrible and predictable last year. We had plenty of guys who could get yac, and our oline sucked, so quick passes should've been used more.. (not just Short passes) 1-3 step drops and it's out of there. Elementary ****. We really had our best wr running hitches, slants, outs, and comebacks ALL game EVERY game. We should ALWAYS run a vertical offense at THE U because we will ALWAYS have the guys who can run. Also killed Yearby by not playing him. Yearby had 1000 yards the year before and saw his carries drop because he missed a block or 2. Should've had a two headed monster in yearby and Walton instead we give the ball to Gus the hoopty :culpability:
Yearby slow, we know that, but his vision is A1. He rarely gets tackled by the first guy.
I love Ritch but he has a long ways to go in running an offense smh. In the post scrimmage he said one of the pics was because he didn't throw the ball deep enough to keep the defense honest.. why are you still doing this in year 2? Even if it's a scrimmage, why are we running such passive plays still? Sling that bih! Lol

Agree with this. Brother Richt ****ed up. Should have been 11 win team playing Clemson in ACC title game. He wasted Kaaya with the RPO
crap.
I think Kaaya and Richt had their meeting at the end of the year and Kaaya said I'll stay if we run pro style offense like you always have pastor Richt.
Richt said no I'm in love with RPO, and after that Brad figured playing in this BS offense wouldn't help, so minds well make the jump.
I can understand this. Can't believe he hasn't been picked. Watching the Gruden special with Kaaya I got the sense they had off camera
Discussion about RPO,cause Gruden hates that ****. The episode was telling.

Now Richt is looking at regression the year with no qb on roster

Jesus what a terrible decision. I know he probably wouldn't have played himself into first round next year but he could have realistically turned into a 2nd or 3rd rounder if he took team to playoffs.

He's been the same QB all 3 years. I thought 2016 was his best season, so I'm wondering what exactly he is trying to say.

Are you under the impression that we weren't running the RPO during the end of the season?

I don't believe he was gonna bump himself up by coming back. Three years of tape is plenty. Another year might have gotten him a one round bump up but I doubt it.

Kaaya played pretty well under Coley, Richt totally screwed him with his terrible playcalling. When Richt came around and figured he had to work with his QB to win some ballgames Kaaya produced and gave us a decent season in the end. Yes he is a statue and yes he is terribly inconsistent, passing inaccuracy is a problem. IMO Richt did not want him just as he did not want Allison and probably encouraged him to declare for the draft. He wants a QB that can move. Kaaya may not belong in the NFL.
