Standish was always a big boy but he's finally leaning up. Looks like he wants to play heavy minutes this season.

No surprise but Pete is picking Kaaya to start

And I'm still sticking with my prediction of Kaaya starting against Louisville

if Kaaya starts day one its an awesome look for the program. golden or not it gives us some stability at a key position

I agree, but for a different reason. If Kaaya wins the job it means he was clearly better then everyone else. If Olsen or Heaps win it, it could just mean the more experienced guy won cause of that. in a 50/50 tie its gunna go to Heaps or Olsen every time

Whoever the Coaches pick they should be all in with that guy (honestly have full faith in him not some half hearted soft shoulder short leash nonsense), set realistic expectations based off of his experience, and be patient but take the safeties off (know that if he's a young QB he'll make mistakes but accept that and tell him to let it fly). I don't see us winning the MNC with this roster, so why play super close to the vest? In short, coach with some heart and confidence.

Personally, I love what I see in Kaaya, but it's hard to truly know what you have in a QB until the lights are on and the rush is coming.

I have to say. Dude looks very impressive physically, especially for an incoming freshman. His body frame is what everybody wants in a qb, I personally think he is gonna start as well...

The quarterback situation that we are in now .. its crazy, yeah i know Edouard it out the picture , but i really wish we could still hold on to kid.

Hard to start as true freshman. I would say we have to see Olsen. If he doesn't have it, then the transfer kid or Williams when recovered. I am not opposed to playing Kaaya some this year because he will be done in three anyway if he is anything like we hope. Kid is motivated. He is going to hit it hard and want to move to NFL. I do not want to mess with his brain starting him to early but see no need to redshirt him, unless Olsen is willing doing well. Get the kid on the field experience. I want to see him; staff is not to be trusted anymore.

We don't have to worry about a short leash with Al. We have seen that he is never wrong and therefore never changes the QB once he picks him. Whoever he picks will play even if he is on a mobility scooter. If that were not true, we would know a lot more about Williams from all his game performance last year. Instead we know it is dangerous for Al to have a senior anywhere near him.
