On the point of being able to take our best and beat the other team's best - how many teams in the top 25 would take Duke, Walford and our WR unit instead of their guys? Probably half? And yet, our offense lacks explosion, lacks consistency, lacks imagination, lacks cohesiveness. Our OL was terrible, and that is obviously going to hamper any game plan, but let's at least help those guys out and put the other team on their heels with the threat of attacking.
We basically ran two passing plays all game - WR screen and play action roll out. I'm not sure I recall one time on 1st down going with a straight drop back pass. It's inconceivable to me that we have such a hard time finding a way to get the ball to our very talented skill players in space. And like many have said, if we're going to go with the more talented QB instead of the game managing 5th year guy, we have to put him in a position to succeed. Getting in 3rd and long, limiting the playbook to basic plays, that is not going to cut it.
And after watching L'ville's QB and Texas A&M's qb, two first time starters (both were redshirted, but still first time starters) be given a chance to attack, with A&M doing so on the road against a "vaunted" SEC defense, it's pretty clear that some coaches are willing to let their young QBs attack and make plays. Unfortunately, we don't have a coaching staff that is willing to do so.

One of the biggest problems I see with Golden is he's not an X's & O's coach, and he's assembled a staff of guys who are at or below his level in terms of tactics.
We have a bunch of recruiters. How many legit teachers do we have?
This game was 100% on the oline. It seemed like there were dudes unblocked on every single play.

- Defensively, honestly, I thought this unit played fairly well. They created two turnovers inside the ten( which amounted to all of 3 points which is inexcusable) and until the end, kept UM in the game Like many others, I wish Mark D'onofrio would bring more pressures and allow what is a deep and talented secondary to play a bit more tight man coverage.
- I liked what I saw from Ufomba Kamalu, 'the Big Heurtelou' upfront, along with Chick and Tyriq McCord. Thought they did some disruptive things and were active. The real standout was Denzel Perryman on defense, for much of the night he played at an All-American level before getting worn down late in the 4th as the Ville marched down the field and put the nail in Miami's coffin. This is where the lack of linebacker depth really showed. It's clear, guys like Darrion Owens and Juwon Young need to see the field out of pure necessity to create some much-needed depth.
I guess I was trashed last night. I saw the same ****** defense that gives no team a chance to win
True. Asking Duke to run stretch plays into a fast aggressive 9 man front repeatedly and then asking a freshmans QB to only throw when the defense knows a throw is coming is absolutely on the corches. This game was 100% on the oline. It seemed like there were dudes unblocked on every single play.

Absolutely inexcusable. You're loaded with bad *** WRs and a couple nice TEs, yet you're lining up in power sets all night playing directly into the teeth of the defense.
