So if we shouldn’t worry now, when do we?

I love the “wait till the season” guys. Like what am I waiting for? Us to get smashed by Bama week 1? If you head over to our football board almost every person acknowledges we have a 10% chance of winning that game. And that’s our fans!
I think there’s something else at play here. Maybe the staff finally gets it. But I’m struggling with trusting that we have some newfound model while the powers continue to stack chips.
I also can’t trust the season, because it’s been twenty years since I was happily surprised by the results of the season.
I also struggle with the if we win they will come argument. As after our semi successful seasons we didn’t have great hauls. So that doesn’t exactly hold water.
Bottom line is, you can recruit or you can’t. You can gets kids to pledge to you or you can’t. If our recruiters are such studs they’d have confidence they can keep kids committed too.
If we only have 5-7 guys at the end of this month relying on the season. You might want to prepare yourselves for plan C. Cause that’ll be about all we will legitimately have a shot at.
Just my opinion. Of course I hope we crush it. I’m just not sold on this new methodology being used. And I’m even more surprised at just how many are willing to put their head down and say trust the process.

Just thinking out loud here, what if the staff is telling kids, look we don’t have a spot for you right now. With how the transfer portal is going, go ahead and commit to another place now to ensure yourself a spot if you can get one and we’re going to keep recruiting you in case anything changes.

That sounds like a bit of a reach. I think everyone wants to believe we have elite recruiters so bad they are somewhat blinding themselves. I think guys recruit well in the sec because it’s the sec. these kids have legitimately been brainwashed by ESPN etc that it’s this head and shoulders elite conference. When in fact sans Bama it’s basically not any different from the other major conferences.

So the DB coaches snagged one of their top targets right out of SEC country a couple weeks ago but they screwed up on the local kid who chose West Virginia? Some of you actually think that’s how this played out? T-Rob forgot how to recruit DBs..sure. Coaches aren’t perfect and no one is but Spells picked WVU and I don’t think that’s the last place he picks if the right offers come along

Feel like we’ve been pretty patient as a fan base so far, but it’s difficult to feel really good about any of those names until Chris Graves.

Im still giving the staff the benefit of the doubt here, but the chances of looking like a fool for doing so are getting bigger by the day 🤣

Guess we're dipping into the portal once again which fine.. but we really gotta close on the prospects that don't have bag schools listed we can't be losing to rapstate lol hillbilly university 😅😅 we gotta be better than this.. This is the University of Miami 🙌🏾®️💯

There’s a split contingent here. Half of you are waaaaayyyyy too confident that this all going according to plan. The other half are probably freaking out a little too much.

Its probably somewhere in the middle. Staff is putting a lot of their focus on the elite high end talent (as they should be). Unfortunately, we’re a few strong seasons away from having elite close rates with high end talent.

The top programs have the luxury of slow playing their plan B kids because they know they can get them on board if they give them the green light. No matter how late in the game it is. My guess is we snag some really good players but end up having to reach on some plan C kids to fill out the class.

You guys can knock the kid all you want but he is an easy 4 star and will play in the league baring injury. These posts will look real bad in a few years.
I’m not knocking the kid- just speaking factually about his no p5 offers before he committed. I definitely hope he balls out, but he wasn‘t recruited. Even camped at LSU and didn’t get an offer.

Haven't seen anything on Nelson's Twitter yet.
He did say recently that he was 60/40 on announcing on July 4. I was just going with an article on 247 today which had Nelson announcing at noon. If he decided to push his announcement back, I think that's better for UM.
