Freeze is the guy who masqueraded as a diehard evangelical Christian, proud dad of 3 daughters while simultaneously hiring prostitutes for recruits, lying to their faces about his program, and then trying to put blame for the whole ordeal on his predecessor when he got caught (because he shockingly also ran this whole Mickey Mouse operation like a moron of epic proportions). He's a generational dirtbag. But you guys want him because he's a "savage", dropped bags, and beat Nick Saban. Just FYI he was 39-25 at Ole Miss. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but I am happy that this clown is far away from UM. Mario, for all his flaws, is someone I respect and trust to lead the program. I can't fathom picking this guy over him.
Like the old saying goes “Money talks and bull**** walks.” Those that were providing the $$$ wanted Mario. Arguing about who “should” have been hired is pointless because the decision was already made by those with the power to do so.

There’s no such thing as cheap anymore just less expensive. It’s like Mullen at Miss St. He got like $4 plus million at UiF maybe up to 5? He could only do so much at Miss State.
I guess I mean cheap compared to what Mario got based on Mario being an Alum...

What if I told you kids have visited in the past without getting leaked out?
one key thing you forgot to mention. I'm assuming Tucker never found out? Or are you saying he's sometimes able to keep quiet?

I don’t think Dan decides when others are dropping massive buyout and/or salary $$$$.

I said at the time of the hiring process that Jerry Falwell’s very Christian university hired Freeze and cleaned him up nicely for us if we really wanted him. We had a built in explanation but that wasn’t happening. For one the money guys needed during this go around were all in on Mario and if there was no Mario then whoever was left - assuming no buyout of Manny even - wouldn’t have pulled that trigger.

Look, Miami is just like Auburn in facing the reality that alums and boosters may donate more to the program when led by some coaches rather than others.

Miami alums/boosters like to donate to winners (and make no mistake, regardless of their UM degrees, Richt and Mario piled up wins before coming to UM).

Auburn alums/boosters like to donate to scumbag rule violators. It's their brand.

As for "Jerry Falwell's very Christian university", let's not overlook the fact that Jerry Jr. was in a throuple with the poolboy.

No, my old account got deleted. I don’t have any inside connections, I live 2500+ miles away.

Passing on the info from Gaby. Jesus Christ, so many of you “fans” are such hardos.

So let me understand here, you posted so infrequently that your "old account" was deleted as being spam (check out the list of banned/deleted accounts and explanations), but you felt duty-bound to create a brand-new account to "pass on the info from Gaby".

Thank you for your service. Bye-eeee...

Yeah he was when he was at Ole Miss and beat Saint Nicki multiple times. Saban genius is stopping these upstarts before they get going. Too late on Kirby.
I mean Kevin Sumlin beat Saban too. It happens. You can’t win every single game every season. Kiffin was my first choice because he was the fastest path to 10 wins but I still think Mario is the best long term solution at least I’m hoping so because it’s who we got for a long time lol.

Look, much though I can admire Freeze's "blood sucking killer savage" characteristics, he committed crimes. He hired prostitutes. He lied to recruits and players about whether the violations being investigated had happened on his watch or Nutt's watch. In addition to the monetary-related recruiting allegations, there was also an allegation related to helping a recruit cheat on the SAT.

So, no, at least with Freeze, this is not about avoiding a "youngish southern braggadocio talking game type coach".

Now, you could argue that our similar non-interview of Kiffin is in the same category. And we have privately discussed some of the more substantial allegations against Kiffin, so let's just sidestep that issue for now.

The key is "who is the decision-maker". And decisions on Richt, Diaz, and Mario happened pre-Radakovich, though clearly Rad knew Mario was under consideration.

And while Radakovich did not hire Dabo, he worked with him, so I don't think he'd have a problem hiring a "youngish southern braggadocio talking game type coach with no former ties to UM". And if we're being honest, I'm not even sure we have any other candidates with "former ties to UM" in the hopper.

I'd also say this. If the whispers on the board are true, that Dan is going to retire in a few years, then I suspect that we could see Alonzo elevated to replace him. And I definitely think Alonzo's decision-making on coaching hires would be much more business-oriented than Beta Blake's decisions were.
Not to beat a dead horse, but it seems the decision to hire Mario was made by the powers that be before, or in conjunction with, the Rad hiring. I don’t believe Rad leaves his cushy Clemp$on job if he’s not on board with the Mario hire.

Ultimately, those with the $$$ were making the HC hiring decision and had their minds made up early on. Taking a chance on a HC with a shady past was more than likely not even a consideration. We need to accept the fact that Mario will be our HC for the foreseeable future and all the noise about coulda, shoulda, woulda is just that - noise.
