July 29, 2023 BBQ

Sally’s and Pepe’s are both a CT style Apizza (at least that’s what they told me). Very crispy, thinner style pies. NY pizza is a bit more doughy (which I also love).
Not necessarily....Depends what type, and method is used. Brick Oven, Wood fired, Coal fired..etc .) also what type of Yeast....(Fresh or Dry) (very important)...Prince St Pizza, DiFare and many other NYC Pizzerias have plenty of crisp without literally burning the Pizza.

Let's be honest, there isn't a BBQ restaurant in America that actually makes good BBQ. All restaurant BBQ is **** compared to what the average BBQ enthusiast can make in his own backyard. I refuse to eat at BBQ restaurants because I'm ALWAYS incredibly disappointed. Waste of time even talking about BBQ joints. Of course, now I just wasted my time posting on it.

Either you know a ton of serious barbeque enthusiasts or you live somewhere that has no good barbeque restaurants. Most of the people I know don't even own a proper smoker and if they do it's (shudder) a pellet fed Traeger. Now, if I go to a bbq restaurant, I'm almost always getting the brisket. Mostly because I just don't have the time to make one at home. Anything over a 10 hour smoke for me is a bit unrealistic.

You gotta try this place called Emmy Squared Pizza , smaller private chain in a few major cities that only makes Detroit style it’s 🔥🔥
I approved of this! I planned my friends bachelor party in nyc few years ago and we went there. It was fantastic. They just opened another location here in DC

The consensus of this thread would say:
- if the place started in NY, NYers would think it’s the best pizza ever
- if it started in Detroit, Detroit folks would says it’s the best
- but if it started in DC, they’d both say it sucks and their pizza is better…

I can’t eat any of the pizza chains. I’d rather just get something else.

Then you weren't hungry. Or- never have been.

You get hungry - maybe after three or four days - you'll eat the butt out of a beaver - while he's still alive. And be grateful for it.

I can't believe sometimes the things I ate in remote areas. Give me nightmares today.
