I don’t know squat about him so I’m not qualified to judge how worthy he is of an offer. But we need people that can actually contribute at some point, and I don’t know if the coaches have had a chance to really kick the tires on this model.

We don’t need another guy that will never, or hardly ever, contribute. What good is depth if the guy can’t play?

I’m not saying he can or can’t, but I’d like to think that there was an opportunity to really evaluate him before the offer.

The LSU offer doesn't mean sh*t. People said the same thing about Kennedy with his Oklahoma offer. The staff needs to really evaluate this kid and see if he's a take.

It means more because he's a three-year kid.

Kennedy was a smart take because he's gone in a year. That's why so many good teams were in on him, it's low risk. If LSU is really offering this kid, they must be high on him.

Things I like: he's a patient pass blocker. You rarely see him extending to make a block, he times the initiation of contact. He seems to have some raw strenght to him. Once he's locked on a defender that's all she wrote. He finishes his blocks. Finally, he has an edge to him.

Things I don't like: He carries some bad weight, but that's fixable with time in Feely's S&C program. He doesn't explode out of his stance in the run game. He tends to stand straight up after the snap. He has poor hip flexibility which may be the reason he tends to stand straight up. He appears to have slow feet, and like the saying goes slow feet don't eat. Especially, against teams like UF, FSU, and Clemson that feature quick twitch athletes on their defensive line.

They’ve obviously evaluated him if he’s coming in for an official visit that’s gonna cost the school thousands of dollars...

Fair assessment.

U think the staff is brining him in for an OV that he’s likely to commit in without evaluating him?

No I think they’re bringing him in to evaluate him. There’s no guarantee he will get an offer. If they sign him, it’ll be because of what they see in person.

They probably only looked at junior college film which may not tell them a lot based on the level of his competition. Maybe if you think it through the next time, it might be clear to you.

The fact that he is a three year kid just means we really need to do our due diligence, bc if he busts like Kennedy, that's a wasted scholarship for 3 whole years. Not just 1 year like Kennedy

His combine numbers from his junior season aren't great- 6'2.5, 325, 5.94 40, 5.32 shuttle, 33.5 powerball and 22.2 vertical.

I do like that LSU is after him. They do a good job with road graders. Could be a late bloomer and we need numbers.
Thanks for the info DMoney! How heavy/hard are we recruiting him? Let's see how the evaluation goes.

Started 11 games as a True Freshman in Juco, 3 years eligibility left?
Great move by Manny to get him on campus.

Agreed and if Butch Barry is worth his salt (and I pray to God Shamgod that he is) then he should absolutely be able to get value from at worst a "project" like this kid.
