I troll a **** ton admittedly. I did believe changes were gonna get made just who knows on timing. idc Marios reasoning. it's his job not mine. he also has complete control so he can pick his *** up for 4 months if he wanted to. no one buying out that deal so its his show. its our jobs as fans to cheer him on or *****.

also, my point of the post was we waited I guess close to 2 months for a public announcement bc even the insiders were left wondering when it was going to happen (cribby even said a few times that he was told this would happen but hes still waiting - see DVD stuff). im just glad changes are finally official now and I can now enjoy the OC thread

I get it. I mean, let's be honest, at this point you and RVA have devoted way more words to this than my original "It wasn't two months" post, which was pretty harmless. Unless you were offended, in which case I apologize, it wasn't intentional.

I've had this hiring-timing conversation (non-troll version) with plenty of people, in texts, in DMs, and even once in person ( @wspcane ), you can check my consistency. I have said from the outset that Mario would not "part with" anyone until the replacements were nearly certain to be signed. He was going to do everything to avoid the "open jobs" timeframe of 2022. So the only real "time" variable was whenever Mario would be able to talk with his target(s) and make firm offers.

The whole "letting guys find other jobs" aspect, while partially true and wholly relevant, was based on when the job market thawed, and REAL movement would begin. I know guys have cited specific instances of "University X just hired a coordinator", but those were one-offs, and the real movement is happening now. I think we can all read between the lines and realize that Gattis is having a tougher time lining up his next job than Ponce did, so if enough time passes, we will have a late Christmas miracle of "mutual parting", like what happened with Leavitt (though Leavitt was really fired).

Maybe pass game coordinator or co
Thank you sir. Side note, I’m sad to learn you are an Eagles fan Lol. Good luck to you next week. I debated buying tickets for next weeks game but I’m pretty sure I’d be putting my life on the line rocking some blue and red in that atmosphere.

haha bro you. know idc. if I cared, I wouldn't troll as much as I do lol.

and that makes sense. ive non troll admitted that the firing is as important as the hiring is. who he hires is the most important thing. if he flops and hires more waste, then we have a larger issue. if he Waited it out but still got studs to coach his O and D, well all be happy.

I've never seen so much typing with so little substance and ignorance and arrogance. You're wrong and inaccurate in pretty much everything you typed.

When you look at the national recruiting services, we've out recruited everybody in our conference by a large margin except Clemson, FSU, and UNC. Who has recruited on our level the past 20 years? Pitt? Duke? GT? All these teams we lose to every other year? Let me guess, all the recruiting experts are "idiots" too?

And what about all the national media that had us at #20 or better last year?

Are they all "idiots" as well?

Where's your preseason prediction from '22?

And Mario's coaching staff is "top notch"? I'm not even sure where to start there. 5-7 with 5 embarrassing losses with the worst season and most boring offense in 40 years.

You're the only one who "knows" everything huh because you've been paying close attention for 30+ years?

I've been a fan since the 80s as well. Nobody needs your validation. I'm not even sure you're aware of what you're saying.

Mario's first year was a disaster.
He hired a coaching staff that did not work well.
He went 5-7 when we were expected by most to win 9+ and minimum of 8.
His offense was one of the worst scoring offenses I've ever seen.
He ruined TVD when he was considered a preseason Heisman candidate.
Blowout loss to MTSU (do they recruit better than us as well?)
Blowout loss to Clemson
Blowout loss to Duke with a first year head coach.
Blowout loss to Pitt on senior day
Worst loss ever to FSU 45-3 at home

You keep defending Mario.

Staff changes is necessary and he needs to look in the mirror and figure out how things could go so wrong because year 1 was worse than anybody's worst case scenario/imagination.
Buddy, there is a difference between recruiting rankings and actual quality of athletes. Do you know how many highly ranked athletes we have gotten that have crashed and burned? Because we paid attention to the recruiting rankings as opoosed to actually fully scouting them?

Anyways, let’s agree to disagree and call it a day. I’m not being arrogant, I’m actually knowledgeable about this. I’ve had relationships with previous staffs, including this current one. So im decently connected. Change is coming. So take a breath.

I have no reason to defend Mario. He is here tomorrow and could be gone the next day. I don’t care. But there’s more beyond the surface that goes on.

Don’t go by 247 or Rivals athlete rankings blindly. Just look at Cormani McLean and the bull**** he’s brought onto this process.

If I am a betting man, he will never amount to much. Because the kid, with all due respect to his family, seems like a mental midget. Do you want to take type of player on this roster? I do not. I saw a lot of mental midget, and this roster over the past 15 years. Hard pass.

And by the way, don’t insult me by calling me, arrogant or ignorant. I didn’t call you any names. Be civil. I might know some things that you don’t know about what’s currently going on. If that makes me arrogant, and that’s on you, because that’s not who I am.

I did state “get your S straight” previously. For that I apologize. That did sound arrogant.

haha I just know its between Atlanta and florida and tis right off 75. frankly, GA to me is Atlanta and nothing else w savannah over by the coast

Fair. That's how I feel when I'm driving it.

True story. After the Bethune-Cookman game, I was driving north on I-75 just before midnight on Sunday. I was almost to Bucees. Pouring rain.

All of a sudden, some drunken idiot comes flying towards me, going south in the northbound lane. I barely had a chance to swerve right and miss him before I had to catch my drift and try to get control of my car again before flipping.

Never. Ever. EVER. Have I ever been as happy to get to that **** Warner Robins Bucees as I was that night. I was still shaking 30 minutes later (I also got out of my car in the rain to make sure I hadn't ****ed up my tires or suspension).

I had to figure out how to call the Georgia Highway Patrol (it's *FHP in Florida), I was just hoping that this idiot wouldn't kill someone before I could report it.

Insane near-miss.

I LOVE that Bucees...

when Ian hit, we were supposed to fly out to AZ for a Bach and all the airports closed down and flights got canceled. we legit bought a one way from atl and did the drive overnight right before Ian was supposed to land. we ended up getting there too early so we took in some sight seeing and toured the Bucees. the fudge bar thing and live breakfast area was insane for a Walmart posing as a gas station.

when I was in HS, my parents and I left miami at like 4 am to tour UF int he summer and I wanted to drive but my parents were like nah its early just relax. best decision they made bc there was a wrong way driver on 95 before we got on to turnpike and we barely avoided.

Glad to hear of your good fortune that night on 95.

There's a lot of things that don't scare me at all. I never stopped to consider "wrong-way driver". But when it happened, it scared me more than anything has in life.

Wish I could fake a tough-guy reaction on that one, but it happened too fast and was just way too intense.
