Gattis will be the new WR coach at Penn St.
Can you imagine the hate coming out of PSU vs Miami.

Manny and Gattis will just sit around after every Miami loss and share a 6 pack and laugh.

I’d like us to win 10 games next year so they don’t have much to talk about. Then beat PSU in a bowl game.

Lol right, as frustrated as everyone is about the timeline (including me last 2-3 days), this dude isn’t a moron. But to most on this board, a slow timeline = refusal to make changes. That can’t be further from the truth. Anyone that doubted changes to the staff (which were brought up back in November by multiple people) is a buffoon.

I’ll go in record to say Tierney would be a home run hire imo. Super intrigued there.
where the changes? a lot of yapping for a guy collecting DDs. again im not saying no changes id just rather see e them first vs more timelines

That could be Mario trying to do right by other coaches. Do I agree with it? No not totally but understand. I think Mario is capable of firing people but…

He could have had a sit down with Gattis and basically had the discussion that it wasn’t gonna workout and go seek another job so it doesn’t look like I’m firing you.
I know that’s the argument but I find it ridiculous… In what other million dollar occupation do managers make sure you have another job to try to avoid making it look like you’re not being blamed for your own pitiful performance when it’s completely obvious you failed miserably at your job?

Call it a mutual parting of ways if you want but do it a month ago. There’s zero reason for this clandestine **** to go on for this long

Franklin just fired a coach after going 11-2, and he’ll land on his feet and have a long lucrative career with no lingering effects of “being fired”.

Pretty interesting to go from OC Michigan winning Broyles award to OC Miami and then WR coach at Penn St… all in 2 seasons.
Better look for him if he’d try to land as a WR coach in the NFL i’d imagine. At least the rationale could be that its his gateway into the NFL ranks.

Who y’all want boys?
Mullen, Briles, Monken, Ludwig, Ruggiero?
I just want someone to get rid of this baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad feeling in my stomach.

oh yea and an OC that doesn't run a stare into space for 28-30 seconds every play offense.

Would wager a large sum of money that it's going to be Arroyo. Really hope I'm wrong though (since I don't know any sports book that would actually take that bet).
Went 11-2 and won a Rose Bowl together while putting up almost 40 PPG. I wouldn't be mad at the hire. It's not the splash I think we were all looking for, but I honestly see some similarities between TVD and Herbert. So, I could see that being part of the pitch. Also, he has not been linked to any other openings around the country and somebody with his track record as an OC, doesn't just go unwanted after failing as a HC.

Oh yay , the Cis roller coaster has hit the “ Gattis is gone “ segment of the ride again. Do some of you idiots know the definition of insanity ?

You mean like someone who impersonates another person on a message board and calls himself by some weird inversion of his name?

I started softening up because Gattis has been completely invisible on the recruiting trail in recent weeks. What I objected to previously was random posters (not referencing Cribby) making definitive statements like “he’s gone” when there was zero proof or indication.

Yes, but you do realize that we have some literal mouth-breathers who conclude "if Gattis is still on the payroll at this moment, that means he IS coming back next year".

The 1991 season was our year dude. That team was set to make a run. Randall was becoming a good passer and getting away from being a one trick pony. I was so excited going into that season then he tore his Acl game one. What’s crazy is they still went 10-6 with the amazing threesome of Jeff Kemp , Brad Goebel and a washed Jim McMahon. That defense was as good or better than any d in history. They just had a god awful offense. It was sad. It broke my little 13 yo heart.
I will never forgive Bryce Paup. Killed our super bowl dreams for the next 25+ years.
