There is nobody better or at least more proven than Dan Mullen. Must we really make this difficult? Many of us had questions about Gattis hiring, only for people to clown those who had questions. There are NO questions with Mullen. HE IS THE ANSWER WE SEEK. We KNOW he is going to scheme us enough points, regardless of some deficiency on the roster. Just pay the man and gtfo of the way PLEASE.
Not sure the motivation for Mullen to take an OC job. Hasn’t been an OC since 2008, and was a very successful HC at MSU. I’m sure he’ll have some solid HC gigs lined up when he wants one.

That’s a tad before my time. The Eagles align with Miami. I was 8-9 when I got into football so 86-87 is when I jumped on both. I was a big Cunningham guy. Jerome , Eric Allen , Seth Joyner , Reggie White , Andre Waters etc. One of the nastiest defenses in history.

Used to work with Clyde Simmons, great great dude. People forget about him when talking about those Eagles squads. Was a bit before my time but the numbers speak for themselves.

It saves more face than "being unemployed". Also, they could enrich his role by calling him a "Co-OC" and making him "passing game coordinator".
They already have a co-oc and they just fired a guy after going 11-2 so I don’t think Franklin is about coddling and protecting egos.

I was actually trying to think of his name and I kept drawing a blank so I just put “
etc” lol. He was very underrated but look at who he played with on that DL.

The best statistically I've seen..

I go back to the 80’s my friend.
I'm a Pittsburgh/Steelers guy so I'm hard-pressed now to ever admit liking anything Philly but in an era where we kinda sucked I was absolutely a big fan of those late 80's/early 90's Eagles team as a little kid.

Jerome and Reggie White need no mention but for some reason I was especially a fan of Clyde Simmons and Seth Joyner. That D was legit full of monsters and It probably helped that it kinda coincided with the beginning of better NFL based video games too.

Gattis will be the new WR coach at Penn St.
Franklin reviewing Gattis’ rolodex of SFL WR recruits when he shows up to Happy Valley.

It's great to see all the Philly fans on here as I moved back recently after 45 yearws in Boston. Unfortunately, I am old enough to be your father or grandfather. Have been following Phillies and Eagles since mid 50s. That's some miserable sports memories.

One time for my dog Calvin Williams.

Those early 90s Eagles teams were so fun.

Cunningham had a mouth protector that was white with a black spot in it so when he wore it, it looked like a tooth was missing. That cracked my dad up every time he saw it.

I started softening up because Gattis has been completely invisible on the recruiting trail in recent weeks. What I objected to previously was random posters (not referencing Cribby) making definitive statements like “he’s gone” when there was zero proof or indication.

But yet Cribby has maintained all along he's gone and you were still among the hard core contrarians.

I only pushed back on you guys on basic logical grounds. Absence of evidence doesn't mean evidence of absence.

The fact he's still here doesn't mean he's not leaving.

That was just the effects of mopium which is an epidemic around here.

“Saving face”… so glad he wasn’t fired, he would have never been able to land a wr coach job if he was…

That could be Mario trying to do right by other coaches. Do I agree with it? No not totally but understand. I think Mario is capable of firing people but…

He could have had a sit down with Gattis and basically had the discussion that it wasn’t gonna workout and go seek another job so it doesn’t look like I’m firing you.

The 1991 season was our year dude. That team was set to make a run. Randall was becoming a good passer and getting away from being a one trick pony. I was so excited going into that season then he tore his Acl game one. What’s crazy is they still went 10-6 with the amazing threesome of Jeff Kemp , Brad Goebel and a washed Jim McMahon. That defense was as good or better than any d in history. They just had a god awful offense. It was sad. It broke my little 13 yo heart.

Mix in that D in with playing in that ****** Vet stadium field and the whack jobs in the stands , find me something more intimidating ? That defense took up to three qb’s out in a game. It was survival to face that d. If Jerome doesn’t die him and RW are arguably the greatest duo ever.

I loved those uniforms too. It went with the brand perfectly. I remember the one year they wore black tape over the wing on the helmet because the qb coach died. Even that was bad ***.

When I was a younger whippersnapper playing a lot of Madden, I ALWAYS threw those early 90s uniforms on the squad when I played with Philly.

Something about that Jersey made Brian Westbrook even more bad ***.

No questions on Dan, def some about his wife? Also, Dan too strong a personality for Mario to want to deal with as his subordinate?
