Head coaches need to upgrade staff just like they need to upgrade recruits. I don’t see it being much different. By no means am I saying PJ Fleck is a head coach I’d want at Miami - but my experience in MN has taught me (especially this year) he wasn’t happy with results and turned over the whole staff on offense and defense. Have to be willing to play the best players and the best coaches.

C'mon @Cribby ... any news or hints you're getting? I know you're sticking to your guns that Gattis is or will be gone. Not asking if you've changed that stance. But surely you've heard SOMETHING about what in the world is going on behind closed doors right now?
Your avatar is hilarious!

If it weren’t for a top 5 recruiting class that was fueled by Ruiz, Mario’s tenure so far would be a complete disaster by any objective measure.
about that..

It’s not a knock on Mario, it’s a knock on Gattis. The premise is that Gattis is so toxic that he’s negatively impacting WR recruiting despite the fact that Mario is an elite recruiter.
Yet despite all of this and the stories of Gattis being a locker room cancer the guy is still here.

Gattis and Alonzo fighting over WR who is a take from transfer portal

Gattis not returning calls and texts from Fowles late who was trying to flip late from Louisville

Local HS coaches already souring on Gattis

Highlighting all the WRs that Miami missed on, several of which weren’t ever elite like Micah Mayes
So this A$$ Hat single handedly cost us Fowles? If that isn't a fireable offense then I don't know what is. Also, despite his elite recruiting, I'm getting very tired of Cristobal's move at a snails pace routine. As a matter of fact it's really starting to **** me off.

Mario seriously gonna take until spring practice in March to fire and hire an OC. I was sure he'd have fired him by now, but I'm losing faith. Well at least with his recruiting ability, whoever takes over in 5 years should have a loaded roster.

I think it is obvious that Mario has absolute complete control of the Miami football progrum. It must be in his contract. I do think that he has a big card up his sleeve and I hope I am right. He calls ALL of the shots believe that.
It doesn’t need to be in his contract if Ruiz and others that he is right with and are funding so much want it that way.

we thought that last year. we literally hired a DC who wasn't working and was about to start his job at MARYLAND lol. nothing against Steele but he wasn't choice 1. we got turned down by others. his OC wasn't his first choice either and was a guy who was demoted at Michigan to have any success there
At this point, Maryland is more highly regarded than we are for 2023.

Mario gonna be here for the next 5-6 yrs regardless of the results. I truly believe he wants the best for the program. I do not agree with the process at the moment. But I’m not a D-1 football coach. Got no choice but to sit back and hope he got the right path in mind. Go Canes
