I don't think he'll fire Gattis without a suitable replacement. If Gattis finds another job, great.
If he doesn't, Mario will keep him unless he can upgrade significantly.

I don't think Mario is certain he can upgrade significantly for what he's looking for.
Nope. Heen keeping Gattis.

If you’re a great position coach that develops kids and puts them into the league, recruiting doesn’t take a lot of extra effort

Miami doesn’t have many of these kinds of coaches
Evrn more reason why being restless and demanding in recruiting shouldn't be viewed as a negative by the fans

But it is to college too. He was a scout, so a lot of what he had to do was speak to coaches in every corner, division, and conference to identify players and do due diligence on them. In theory, his rolodex should be throughout both the NFL and college ranks.
if he's using a rolodex, we are f@@@cked.

but i know you were using the term metaphorically

When Bama fires BOB and hires a new OC and we lose our **** again, are people going to start hoping that we hire BOB who failed at Bama?
BOB wont go to a College Team

**** it, it fits my narrative now. I believe Miami Flo for the first time :u5pyxda:
As stupid as this timeline is, I wouldn’t be surprised if we pulled a Clemson and the firing/hiring is real quick on top of one another.

His offense is from that era... (I kid, I kid, I know, pass/run breakdown, bros)
as an aside, i wonder how many yutes understand what a real rolodex is. this is a word that will be used in decades down the road and no one will understand the connection between list of a contacts/people and a true rolodex.

I still have one, an old one, and it is like a trip down memory lane with contacts from early in my career right up to retirement.

Here's the question, if you're an employer or a business owner. Would you rather help someone who you're firing find a new job or fire abruptly with no plan on the next step for them? I think it's fair to criticize Mario and I know he's slow moving and somewhat disorganized... But if his rationale is to help the guy land on his feet and make it seem like a mutual parting of ways, I think that shows a level of integrity we should respect.

possible and if the word in and around coaching circles is that Mario handles business this way it can't hurt coaches considering to come work under him.
