Bingo.

It's January 9th.

Northwestern just hired a DC today.

There will be many, many, MANY more coaching moves made in the next 4-6 weeks.

If you think he's going to be here next year, can you at least stop posting it over and over and over again every single day until we get to a point in time where that might actually be true? And here's a pro tip: That's not in the month of January.

Lock this thread and open it on February 1st, or whenever he's headed elsewhere.
There’s a difference between firing and hiring. Why not fire Gattis weeks ago and hire the replacement anytime in the future?! There is ZERO benefit of keeping Gattis. Cribby even said that Gattis are pushing away local coaches, recruits, and their parents.

I totally understand. But it's much more important to make the correct move than it is making the quick move.
just fire the bum and sell hope to recruits. I totally get not rushing a new hire but what exactly is Gattis still on staff for? OC who's offense sucked. WR coach who can't land a single WR and clearly didnt develop any of the receivers we had in the room. Doesnt even seem to be present at recruiting events. Not sure why he's still employed here

Feels like last year again failing to get anyone at WR…. The season did not help either and allowing Gattis to effectively do nothing while being able to be easily negatively recruited doesn’t help change the WR room with better talent.

Idk if Mario has some loyalty to the coaching world of “doing the right thing” but he’s really making this job harder on himself more than it has to be.

Mario really is ******** himself and the team everyday that Gattis remains…. Particularly on the talent acquisition front

I can’t think of another school that had a similar situation as this

Letting an underperforming coordinator stay hidden for weeks during prime recruiting/transfer season

Josh Gattis has set the Mario rebuild back 18 months

Quick?!?...

The season ended on 11/26/2022, was there some Bowl game or something that’s taken 2 months to prepare for?

You know better than anyone that there are often a lot of moving parts to these things. If spring ball starts and he’s the OC, we can all flood this place with tears. And mine will be as voluminous as anyone else.

After we were promised someone like joe brady and then the co dc from Georgia. Somehow we got gattis and steele. Yet some people still believe mario will make a great oc hire.

Ill believe it when i see it.

Who harmed your ****** and promised you Joe Brady? Nobody ever "promised" Joe Brady.

copy and past comment from last year. the “correct” move turned out to be Gattis.

Not that I have any intel, but it may be a financial decision. If you fire someone before X date, you may have to pay more than if he leaves at a later date. In addition, if a coach finds another job, no firing is required and money is saved. These could play a hand in these decisions; especially when in the grand scheme of things it wont affect much if a change is made in Jan or Feb (or March) other than our annoying fan base and a couple of portal recruits that may not even come here.
