With only one RB in the fold it would behoove him to send papers into The U despite what our coaching staff did to him. Ain't happening, but the kid would play for us.

I'm not local to Miami so I've never had any idea who Blake James is, and couldn't pick him out of a line up when his name came up for AD. To prove how little I knew about him I'll share that I thought DaBlakas James was black at the time.

My question is, it seemed like a tonne of people on this site were pushing for him to get the job. Why? Will any of those people even admit it now?

I'm here.

After 2 straight AD hires whose careers at UM were short-lived, we needed someone who would offer some semblance of continuity and stability. You get that in James. He's passionate about the university and won't be using this job as a stepping stone towards bigger and better things. Beyond that, one of the key functions of the AD is to fundraise and Blake James has a great track record in this regard. As the former Senior Associate AD for Development, he has strong relationships with all of our top donors and the ability to bring in more. Just look at our major gifts as of late. There's more negativity surrounding the program now than ever before and he and his staff of fundraisers have still managed to bring in record-breaking gifts (two of 1.5 million+ in the last month).

At the end of the day, I know that he hasn't handled some things as well as he could have (See: The BUC sign fiasco), but I strongly believe that he'll be given more autonomy by the next president, should he remain AD. And if he is, I think you'll definitely be seeing changes next year when Golden undoubtedly fails to perform.

I think Urs may have gotten too close to the situation be unbiased.

Blake James has been a disaster. He's a PR nightmare.

So you worked at the Hecht right? What was your impression of the organization from within? Keeping on-field performance out of the equation.

What the **** is actually going on, on the inside that our program is so freaking dysfunctional?

What is your opinion of Al?

I didn't see any glaring issues from within, except maybe an over-preoccupation with what the outside world thinks. But other than that, it seemed to run smoothly. Honestly, while it's not true that Donna is apathetic towards athletics, it's possible that she may have been a little TOO involved and I think that's been our biggest issue. I think if we get a new president who is willing to delegate and hand the decision-making power off to our ADs, we'll start to see dividends, because from an operational standpoint, our athletic department doesn't appear to be as dysfunctional as one would assume from the outside.

As far as Al is concerned, I was admittedly obsessed with him when I worked there. He was extremely personable and seemed to be a hard worker. But none of that really matters when your philosophies both schematically and recruiting-wise aren't a fit for the University, so my love affair with him has obviously since ended.

If that means giving more power to Flake James, then we are doomed.

So that horse-toothed weirdo McElwain only needed 2 months to steal two south Florida running backs from Folden?

This recruiting *** is the Hindenburg.

Florida- " we are back in the state of Miami, and we are taking your players"

While AG says, we just had to get some o lineman so they can compete on the field!
Blaming the sanctions on not being able to take WR or more RB.....

FSU- got some holes in that fence brother!

AG- we just can't recruit all the kids we want because of the sanctions, our kicker earned a scholarship last year, so that's recruiting in itself

ND- degrees🎓> degrees 🌴🌞

AG- no changes, we just have to move forward

Considering the "bunker mentality" that Al has spewed, I find this to be comical.

Thanks for the Insight.
