I believe Urban told higher ups...but lied to the media. The media is now mad because he lied to them...but any real football program that wins at all cost could care less about the media. Urb bout to skate this thing. Which sucks.

How did Rick Pitino's administrative leave turn out? Just give me an example where a Power Five head football coach came back from this (near) death sentence. The "research" shouldn't be too hard, you've heard of Google, right?

The point is not whether he is CURRENTLY fired, the point is that a bunch of geniuses claimed that he would "never" be fired for this. At least admit that it is VERY LIKELY going to happen, and soon.

I get it, but I’m all about accountability. You should be too as a long time poster / contributor. As an aside, the thread hasn’t been that active to really be derailed. I’ve made my callouts tho, was just waiting for today.

So Ivins talked to Battle's dad tonight. According to him, Battle is still committed to OSU but the family will still take visits to other schools as they planned. Supposedly Oklahoma is really pushing as is Miami. Battle will take OV to Oklahoma and Florida. Alabama is also pushing to get him on campus and the father said they are going to see about getting to a game. They are also going to try to get to a few Miami games. He said they talk to UM staff all the time and that our staff has told them they are going to be pushing to the end - they want him to flip.

If he flips it’s to bama. If the kid is about bags this scandal is like early Xmas for that family, Sooners and tide in a bidding war. Oohhweee!

At this point I don’t think it even matters, the ultimatum was perfectly set, Meyer gets fired and the kid walks away... Meyer didn’t, he’ll stay committed unless some other school like Oklahoma wows him late and we can’t do much after that since we burned our OV.
