Jordan Battle

Combining a couple posts from above, the committee sure sounds like their only function is damage control. They're weighing the repercussions of keeping Meyer vs firing him, while attempting to figure out who they could get to replace him. If Stoops tells them he'll take the job, I think they'd fire Meyer as soon as they got off the phone with Stoops. Then they'll preach about how they took the moral high ground.
If Stoops tells them no, I wouldn't be surprised one bit if they slapped him with a 6 month suspension and named Schiano acting HC. That team is good enough to survive the season without him and the OSU bots know that. Ending his suspension in 6 months means he wouldn't coach a game, which lets OSU save face, but he'd be back in time for signing day in February.

No way Chimp Schiano is named interim HC, he's got a cloud of stink around him that covers the entire state of Ohio. You are right about Stoops though, he's the one they want/need

They have their interim , it’s coach Day. Writer from bucknuts said there was no way chimp or the former Indiana coach get it either. Both have baggage.

Day is considered a young up and comer.

He is, but he's not who they want as their next HC IMO. Stoops phone has to be blowing up. **** if Herman has another 6-7 win season will they pry him out of Texas?

This Stoops speculation is comical.

The guy isn't going to have quit on Oklahoma because he feared dropping dead on the sideline to take a job in a place that drove hometown hero Kirk Herbstreit and his family out of the city.....for not being enough of a homer on tv for the Suckeyes.

He's Ohio born and bred, I'm sure growing up this was the Holy Grail of HC jobs to him. I don't think he takes it, his dad dropped dead while coaching, so he is health conscious, but if he does I get why.

Who knows but I think that's overblown a bit- especially since Stoops is an Iowa grad and spent his first 4 professional years there. We used to hear the same childhood hometown allegiance tales about Jon Gruden with O$U AND Notre Dame too. Perhaps I'm just naive in actually believing Stoops' rationale about leaving a powerhouse in Oklahoma more than I ever was with Urbie's obvious lie about fleeing UiF.

My money is on O$U looking foolish in trying to get Herman back and then staying in the state of Texas and getting Patterson to finally jump to a "big time" program.

Would not surprise me one bit if this is exactly what happens.

No way he gets the head gig , unless they pull off something crazy. Like 13-0 kindve season.

The Stoops family are legends in NE Ohio. Key recruiting grounds for Ohio State.

Writer on bucknuts said he doesn’t see losing Meyer affecting the season , at all. They’re loaded and have great assistants.

I’m like “ not at all, not one game “?

Arguably one of the best gameday coaches ever doesn’t make no difference on saturdays?

Wow, over pay much?

The Youngstown blood runs deep in the Stoops clan, believe that. I hope he turns them down truth be told.

I absolutely don't want him there. Nobody is going to be an upgrade over Urbie but Stoops certainly could keep them rolling.

The Stoops talk is hilarious. They are going to fire Urban to hire a guy that oversaw Joe Mixon breaking a girl’s face and bringing in Dorial Green Beckham after he has domestic violence allegations? There were also other cases of sexual assault allegations under his watch. You can write off that option.

The longer this plays out the less likely it becomes he is fired.

But there will be damage done and his recruiting classes (especially this cycle) should take a hit.

If Battle wants to play for a guy like that. I'm ok with him not coming here.

(But i do want him here)
(Really bad)
