The talk of this kid playing CB is ludicrous. OSU staff is taking the **** with him by telling him that and I respect the Miami staff for being honest and making the right evaluation. Let's hope karma wins out and he chooses Miami because his instincts and versatility are top-notch. He can play both safety positions and execute every assignment - which makes a DC's job much easier.

Agreed--I think he just fell in love with their recent track record of 1st round DBs. Hard to argue (or recruit) against that one. Interesting to note that OSU actually just lost their DB coach to the NFL, though.

This never works in our favor, only ever against us.

Case in point: Who did we flip from FSU when Jimbo got canned and they downgraded the staff? Joyner and Ezzard...not exactly Tier A guys. Meanwhile they kicked our *** on the DL, locked in Samuel, kept Gainer, beat us for Goss

Why does a comment like this get down voted? It’s stating facts

How old is wingo? 16?
So since he was 13 he has se n the resurrection of the local team and multiple teammates committed to to the U. But osu was far ahead? The usual suspects will be on sta’s campus after the dead period.
Seems like he doesn’t want to be here and like battle wants to dip. It is what it is. Just like Ryque was comittted to shark boy while having a UM offer.
I’m not saying not to recruit them, but to beware of what they seem to really want.
It seems that all the momentum we’ve had is not enough to convince them. Don’t think a good season will sway kids that still don’t see where the program is going.

Btw, it’s ok for some people to think he gets fired and for other people to thing that he won’t. It’s not the end of the word for people to disagree.

Battle said miami never stopped recruiting him after he commited to osu. He has miami #2 behind osu but said they don't have a big lead.

Said he is going to wait and see how this urban shît plays out. Plans on making a final decision and sign in december.

Definitely sounds like we are very much in the picture. When he first committed I thought no doubt he would be going to osu

I think he commited there because he likes them but they made him a priority from the jump. Had the staff been on him hard from the start they might would have got him.

And he was thoughtful of Miami efforts, just got to keep pushing

They stopped recruiting him for 2 months when they thought they would get Cross..

What does cross have to do with battle? Cross plays safety and osu is recruiting battle at corner.

Right he's getting "recruited" to play corner. It's what OSU is selling him because he wants to play corner. Yet as we have seen many times before, once the kid is in pads in training camp the coaches will place him where he can help them the most. It is not a coincidence that when the safety cross looked like he was not going to come they went to Battle as their Plan B.
