I'm sure he was a plan c kid but he's giving a little insight about our recruiting strategy.

Well, that's life. If he feels Miami is the better fit and chooses Florida because we didn't show him enough love, he is only hurting himself.

I thought everyone saw that coming. But I honestly think the kid was telling our coaches everything they needed to know to keep his spot. But as a staff it’s gotta he hard to see the flirtation but do you drop a kid you had put so much into before he does what you think he’s going to do to you? I mean he was technically committed to us, is telling our coaches he’s coming. Hindsight is always 20/20. I’d rather we just take every kid that wants to commit. And let it sort itself out. Lol.

Sorry this may be an unpopular opinion but good for the kid. Our "strategy" last year suked and while we chased PS2, TC, and Slobee we missed out on samuels, troutman, and this kid which are all quality players.
Yeah we botched last year's DB class. It ended up being a really good DB class. But even without TC or PS2 could have still snagged a Asante and Keidron (who btw they absolutely loved and felt as if he may have have been the best athlete at DB had they brought him in)

I think it's pretty obvious we've changed that approach this year. Go after more targets, offer everyone worthy, take first of those to commit, keep pushing for top talent.

Now if only the QB process would follow suit

Hopefully richt Jr learns from the mistake he is making this year going all in on his one target. I'd say he is approaching this year the same way the dbs were last year...but does he even have a real second option?his strategy may be even worse

3 young qbs on the roster. I don't think there's a huge need to spend too many resources on Qbs.

OP , it's John Huggins. Not Higgins. Anyway, the kid was talented and athletic enough to play here. He had a 109 sparq score. Mainland kids are well coached too.

Yup instead we take Bethel last minute, which may turnout to be a decent player, but was an obvious reach at the moment. If we dont pull Stevenson this year sorry im done with Rumph and Banda. We are missing on too many elite DBs.

I remember when we were recruiting him, but we all knew that jobe was going to Bama, that man twitter was pro-Bama

let me get this straight, we were keeping in contact, but not "enough" contact for Mr. I want to be in my feelings Huggins. This is bullshyt. Funny how Miami has been left at the altar (Reily Gibbons comes to mind) numerous times on a last minute offer. If you really wanted to go somewhere and they came through with an offer, you would give them a legit look. Then he has such intimate knowledge of Miami recruiting practices that he is able to determine there effort as second hand??? Please, fcking gayturds put him up to this **** to negatively recruit us. I can wait to play those fools next year!

I'm torn here, it has been disappointing to see top flight DB talent leave to other schools, and it's easy to blame Banda and Rumph. But I am confident and in the fact that almost all of the attrition is do to the bag game. On an even playing field we win A LOT more of those battles.

What I am encouraged by is that this staff actually by and large coaches up some of the "reach" players it takes in such as MJ, Tyler G. This did not happen under the Shannon and Golden staffs. So who knows, Brownlee and Good may just turn out to be All Americans, All ACC etc...
