BYU has a big campus in Hawaii.

It's actually a rather small campus up in Laie. For the island of Oahu, Laie is basically out in the boonies- more than 1 hr drive without traffic to get to Honolulu. It's scenic though. I lived for quite a few years in Kaneohe, which is 45 min away. Lots of the Polynesian students work at the Polynesian Cultural Center (PCC) , which is owned by the church of LDS (some LDS members dont like to be called Mormons). If you ever make it out to Oahu, I highly recommend going to the PCC. You get to learn a lot about the various Polynesian cultures and they have a neat evening show. The luau is good but sadly no alcohol is allowed.

We've got a home and home with BYU coming up starting in 2026. Would be kinda cool if we had just a few Pac Islander Mormons on the roster by then for those tilts.

Someone was trying to tell me Will Mallory is a Mormon but I've never heard that before.

I thought it was rather big for a satellite. Represented a client who hired 20-30 accounting majors from that school every year.

Love the PCC. Went there a few years ago. In Maui now. Like the chill vibe here in Maui vs Oahu. Been a rough, stressful year at work for me. Wanted to be a “Timebum” for the next 10 days, lol

With Oregon hiring a new Poly DL coach the writing is on the wall.. if Joe were to come here look out for Brandon Dorlus to also look at potentially transferring to Miami. He’s a Haitian kid that played at Deerfield and was the second Deerfield player to sign with Mario (Ge’Mon being the other).

Dorlus was a 1st team Pac12 player this season and may have additional motivation to come back home
