Joe Brady Offensive Philosophy

I am not sold on Brady. How much of LSU's success can be attributed to him or the real OC Steve Ensminger? He started coaching in 2017 and has only held the OC position for half of an NFL season. I need to see him be a successful OC in the college ranks before he gets a big payday.
Ensminger's offense in 2018 with Burrow, Jefferson and Chase:
402yds/GM, 32.4pts/GM

Ensminger with Brady in 2019 with Burrow, Jefferson and Chase:
568yds/GM, 48.4pts/GM

Ensminger in 2020 without all those guys:
433yds/GM, 32pts/GM

I think you can say Brady had an affect on the success. People saying that Brady did not call plays is not entirely true. Ensminger has said that he and Brady would work out down/distance and formations pregame that Joe would make the calls on. You can say that doesn't help with understanding the flow of play calling but he did call plays and was successful with those calls.

And i'm going off the dome here, but I'm pretty sure I remember hearing that Brady called plays on third-down and in the red zone at LSU. Which I'd argue are the most critical areas of playcalling

I read that Matt Rhule fired Brady because Rhule wanted a stronger, more consistent running game. Brady insisted on throwing the ball.

Worries me a bit.
Look at what Brady's impact was at LSU .. this is a recap of offensive stats ... the year before Brady got there .. the year Brady was sitting alongside the OC .. and the year that Brady left:

2018.
LSU QB Joe Burrow
Passing yardage 2970 and 17 TD's
Rushing yardage 2274 and 29 TD's

2019: Brady On the job
LSU QB Joe Burrow
Passing yardage 6024 and 61 TD's
Rushing yardage 2813 and 32 TD's

2020: Brady gone, Burrow gone
3 QBs rotating
Passing yardage 3122 and 24 TD's
Rushing yardage 1422 and 9 TD's

Brady was the Passing Game Coordinator .. sat next to the OC in the booth .. AND DID CALL SITUATIONAL PLAYS. The OC stated that his procedure was "in empty sets .. 5 wr etc. he simply said "Joe it's yours" and Brady took over. Same in the red zone. So Brady although he was not the OC DID in fact call plays in crucial moments of drives. The yardage increase and TD productivity was off the charts. #1 offense in NCAA in 2019 and #2 Red Zone Offense. #4 in 3rd down conversions. If UM brings in a beast of a QB coach who is also a recruiter (somebody like Coley) then Brady as the OC will be just fine .. more than just fine .. turn UM into a touchdown machine.

This is how he described the relationship:

STEVE ENSMINGER: We talked about it before the game. I tell him, I know what my strengths are and I know what my weaknesses are. Joe is better with our compact packages. Joe is better at our empty package than I am. So I tell him, we talk about it before the game, Look, when I want to go empty, be ready. If it's third and whatever, and I have a call, I make it. If not, I tell him. He has it all highlighted. I'm like, Take it.

We can go to empty right now. I said, Joe, I'm going empty. Take it, he's ready for it.

Compact meaning our bunch packages, a condensed formation, stuff like that. He's better at that than I am. I know it. I tell him, Hey, I want to go whatever it is, bunch, pack 'em all in here. I said, Call it. He's ready for it.

I think it’s also important to remember when Ensminger was calling the plays that year it was Brady’s plays he was calling.

Two criticisms of Brady in Carolina I've read are the following:

People know his routes and he refuses to adjust. https://amp.charlotteobserver.com/sports/nfl/carolina-panthers/article254924637.html

He didn’t practice red zone or two minute offense. https://syndication.bleacherreport....y-practice-2-minute-red-zone-offense.amp.html

Just don't like how green this guy is. If we're going to be spending top tiered cash, might as well get a proven commodity.
Didn't practice red zone offense .. LSU was #2 in the country in Red Zone Offense .. and according to the OC .. he delegated red zone play calling to Brady.
