Joe Brady Offensive Philosophy

I read that Matt Rhule fired Brady because Rhule wanted a stronger, more consistent running game. Brady insisted on throwing the ball.

Worries me a bit.
Doesn’t seem to mesh with Mario’s past philosophy of wanting to establish a strong run game.

About 3 weeks ago I heard a little bird say that when Mario was negotiating his contract he wanted $3.5 million for each coordinator. I dont know what that little bird's source was but that little bird has chirped correctly in the past.

All Im saying. :noidea:
Well, I read the staff budget is $8.5M. Your post has $7M for 2 coordinator. Something’s amiss. Also been posted here by credible sauces the coordinators budget is $4M. I guess we’ll see, although Miami doesn’t usually publish salaries, unless the new powers want to flaunt…

It shouldn't. It's been a long time since we had an OL that could bully anyone, so I think we need to stay with a pass-first offense for at least another year. If I have a concern here, it's that everyone seems so sure the guy won't stay. You can never be sure, but I'd like a guy who we at least think might stay. I think it's time to start building some consistency.

The good thing is, Mirabal gets done both.

Don't look at it as that. Look at it as chumming the water to see if big fish are interested.

They won’t have to if they’re people like Brady, Muschamp… anyone of high profile and in demand.

Its unclear if it was $3.5 million for each or $3.5 million for both coordinators. That makes more sense given that the 5 highest paid assistants in CFB last year were making ~$2 million a year.

So lets call it $3.5 million combined for OC & DC. ($1.75 for each) That's roughly top 10 - 12 in 2022 salaries.

with coaching salaries going insane, does anybody have numbers on how many surgical residents have said ***** the brain surgery, and students have dropped out of medical school and are spending 20 hours a day watching game film ?

Lol at people questioning whether Joe Brady would be a home run hire. The guy is one of the most sought after offensive minds in all of football and was on a fast track for a reason.

Mario has clearly stated that he will mold the offense and the team in general around the best players that we have on our roster.

He clearly mentioned Tyler van Dyke and mentioned him for a reason. The offense will be built around him. I am not worried now.

I am not sold on Brady. How much of LSU's success can be attributed to him or the real OC Steve Ensminger? He started coaching in 2017 and has only held the OC position for half of an NFL season. I need to see him be a successful OC in the college ranks before he gets a big payday.

Well Ensminger was there the year before as the lone OC, with the same elite skill talent, and their offense sucked

A season and a half. He was the OC in Carolina last year too.
