LSU contacts Jimbo Fisher, Larry Fedora; Ed Orgeron emerges in coaching search, sources say | NOLA.com

I have maintained for months that I thought LSU's first choice was Fisher, and this article does little to dissuade my theory. Louisville and Clemson aren't making life any easier, Dalvin Cook will be going to the NFL, and the FSU program appears to be trending in the opposite direction relative to where they were a season or two ago.

It's going to be tough sledding in the SEC West, but I think if LSU ponies up and makes him a compelling offer, now might be the time he goes back to Baton Rouge.

Thoughts?

UNC with all there other issues would be in deep **** if they lose Fedora. Still amazed if it is offense they want why they wouldn't be looking at Hermann or Chad Morris.

Much easier to win in the ACC than the SEC west. FSU has the cash to match any offer. He'd be a fool to leave.

I keep reading/hearing this, where exactly are they loaded?

QB - pretty good
RB - No Cook, big ?
WR - Murray looks good, other than that, nothing great
OL - LOL
DL - Very little to no pass rush
LB - Worse position on their team this year
DB - James is a star, Solid corners

Back in September, Todd McShay reported that Jimbob was LSU's #1 candidate regardless of how Eddy O finished the season...

He said they were going to offer as much money as possible, because the boosters really love him from back during his OC days with them.

I had to argue with people on here how it would be a great thing for us if he left, how it would cause a seismic shift in the ACC were he to leave.

I still hold that same opinion, and hope he leaves...

If thats your assessment of them, Id love to read your breakdown of us.....
LSU is a bit aways on offense, while FSU outside of OL already has the pieces there.

I wouldn't mind at all if they took Fedora from UNC, think that program would be ripe for a downturn, as the possibility of sanctions would potentially make replacing him difficult. Plus, one less quality coarstal team, a slightly higher chance we might eventually break our pathetic drought and win the ****** division.

Now, Cuckold Fisher at FSU is another story, on one hand, he's generally corched it up, inFamous Jameis seasons aside, and, with their resources, there'd be a chance they replace him with a better coach. However, seeing as they've been good at recruiting South Florida, any staff shakeup there would still be a net positive for us.

Fedora or the cuckold, hopefully they get one of the two.
 
He may be looking for a change of scenery.

I still think he stays though. He has a nice situation at FSU

imo hes gone it was done deal last year if LSU would of forked out more according my lsu people
 
You guys are ******* crazy if you think LSU is gonna pony up the amount of money it would take to get Jimbo out of fsu. Some of yall need to go check out his buyout and come back.

I don't think there is any way Jimbo leaves. Situation as of right now is much better in Tallahassee. And he has a stupid buyout that LSU will unlikely pay.

In addition,what about Kelly at ND and the Texas situation?Neither team tolerates losers.One may have the

prestige,the other certainly has the money.
 
Fishers buyout is 5million before Jan1st. 3 million after. That won't hold back LSU in the least bit.
 
I hope Cuckbo stays at FSU. I'd hate to see them replace him with a really good HC. I still don't see why LSU would want to hire a guy on the downswing like Cuckbo.
