Jevon Williams

He's literally the fastest kid in the country in the 110 hurdles lol

Not quite but that is still pretty fast. There is a kid here in NC who runs 13.7/8s in the 110h.

I remember this kid name from the AAU Jr Olympics this summer....I think he placed 4th or 5th overall. Either way see what this kid can do on special teams and WR. Shoot we are like 25 slots below the 85 scholarship limit.

I mean as a guy to do end arounds, return kicks, etc why not, right? As mentioned above we have 7-9 spots (probably will be more as this staff scares more to leave).

The problem, however, is unless Manny intends on changing our OC and offensive coaching personnel kids like this/Tutu Atwell, etc. won't be properly utilized, anyways. So hopefully that is in the works post-bowl game as well.
So we don’t have WR screens, jet sweeps, underneath drags in this offense? This kid would be a slot, returning specialist

And his hurdle record time indicates **** good athlete, but it still doesn’t erase a 4.65 40 yard dash for me....at 5’7.

"No high school runner in the United States has run a better time in the 110-meter hurdles than Blanche Ely’s Jevon Williams did last week."

I am not knocking the kid because I know nothing about him but I coach track and I am at meets pretty much all year. That is according to milesplit most meets send results to athletic.net. The Sun is wrong. These are the 2019 results per athletic.net. Kid is way off the top times

Per the 2019 AAU Jr Olympics results on Milesplit. So how can kid be faster per milesplit when milesplit says otherwise. Once again not knocking the kids but the sun-sentinel is wrong.

That article, was from around the first or second week of track season, when most states are still running in cold *** weather or haven’t even started their outdoor yet because of the weather.

That’s like saying you lead the country in scoring average, after playing one game of the season against a scrub FCS team.

13.94 is fast, but it’s nowhere near the record or even the national lead for last season. I think the staff is scouring the leftovers hoping to find some diamond in the rough, after they struck out on everyone else. This kid seems like a project that never contributes and eventually transfers, thus wasting a scholarship.

facts....won’t deter those who don’t read through the thread. Offer lists usually don’t lie.

This...I was just trying to be a little more PC about it...lol.

5’7.5 and ran a 4.7 in February.

I mean I don’t even know what to say.
He ran a 4.7? No I thought this was the track star for Ely. He doesn’t run a 4.7. I think he maybe in the mold of Desmond Phillips from a few years back but is obviously faster. I don’t think he runs a 4.7.

Yes I'm sure when he won both the 110m and 300m state titles it is only because it was too cold for those in the northern part of the state.

Where did I say he was slow or mention anything about the state titles? I was speaking on him, one week into the outdoor season, being the fastest in the nation. Which includes NORTHERN STATES, not just Northern Florida. You invented a new argument when you were proven wrong about one thing. Good for him on winning state titles in track. But that doesn’t make him the fastest person in the nation. Which is what I was commenting on.

And besides, what does him winning titles in the hurdles, have to do with his ability to play football at all? Based on his offer sheet, it sure as **** hasn’t impressed many college coaches. I’m sorry, but the simple fact is, the coaching staff is scouring for plan e,f and g options right now, because they missed out on their options and top back ups.

Every year at this time, offers start flying out to random low level recruits, and posters on here want to act like they’re diamonds in the rough and are going to be major contributors. And the truth is, that’s just not what happens a majority of the time. Sure, it can happen that one turns into a big contributor or even into a star. But thats the rare exception. Usually, they either transfer or never really contribute and just ride the bench taking up a scholarship.
