Jethro Franklin

I know we all like to bash D'Onfrio but why are we so quiet about Jethro Franklin where the real issue on D lies? Our LB's and DB's got better as the year went along but our front 4 were abismal from BC through Duke game. Does Franklin have a job with Miami in 2013?

idk how to judge him yet, on one hand let's be honest our DL talent is garbage. McCord, Chick, Porter and Pierre, McCord and Earl Moore are the only ones who should be here. Problem is that out of those names maybe only 2 or 3 should be starting. McCord and Moore are not developed enough physically, Porter stays hurt, Pierre didn't come on until mid-season, and Chick is extremely average.

On another hand some of our guys lack some technique, which falls on coaching.
 
The man has been working with no personnel to speak of. Can't ask True Sophomores and Freshmen to step into the trenches against upperclassmen and expect them to dominate. Golden put together an excellent coaching staff. Let the man develop some talent. The cupboard was bare...
 
He's my current #1 coach-firing target. I don't like him at all but hey, i hope I'm wrong.
 
Ill hold my judgement on the defense coaches until next year. Our DL was young this year wont be the case next year.

He was also with the Houston Texans.Good coach,a lot of young guys to work with.Coach D and Franklin need to stop calling for stunts on most plays,guys are just too slow right now.

Swasey got to go, we look like a bunch of ******* out there, our strength and conditioning is ******* horrible
 
Some of it is scheme, depth and youth. Yesterday we had absolutely zero pressure. Go back and look at duke's last TD. No pressure whatsoever. That os on jethro.

Chick gets double teamed and is fat now

Shayon Green has arthritis in both knees

Kelvin Cain lulz

Olsen Pierre just started finding his groove

Moore is 17

Jelani is 17

Ivery is 17

Luther is still a bit out of shape. First time ever passing a conditioning test

This is how I feel, I don't know if we can judge him off this season entirely.

Again, how do any of you know what technique he or any position coach is being asked to have his guys execute? If, within a broader system, the DLine is being asked to play 2Gap, you're not going to see guys lined up at 9 blazing up the field. You'll see a controlled pass rush that looks more like forced engagement. So, how are we judging position coaches?

Secondly, look at what he's working with...

Didn't he get Muhammad Wilkerson who was a MAC player to the nfl? If so then he can most likely develop talent give him another year or so.

I don't believe he was on Golden's staff during that time period.

Stop with this logic, fact and intelligence crap. We can't have that here. Must exude passionate ignorance to survive here. :/
 
Jethro Franklin was not with Coach Golden at Temple. He was the D line coach at Fresno State for most of the 90's, did a few years with NFL teams as a D line coach then was at USC for a couple years prior to coming here.
