Jerry Palm’s Prediction re Canes

If we get in, great. Would love to see Cam again. Maybe Dawson can script the first few drives like he always does and then keep doing what works until it doesn’t. There is a path to redemption for the offense, but would take a long hard look in the mirror.

I think defensively, we would be better off without Guidry in the playoffs. He brings nothing redeemable at this point this year. No gameplan, no adjustments, wrong personnel. It would be a ****show.

I think Canes fans are sometimes cursed by our own expectations.

It’s one thing to criticize your team, find faults, call out crap that should be, etc. IMO that’s all fair game. We’re fans, that’s what we do. Especially on a message board.

But we can also support and lobby for our team at the same time. I see fans (and coaches) of other teams pumping their award candidates and making every argument they can fathom to get into the CFP any chance they get. Propping up their best attributes to the outside world. Making themselves as appealing as possible because that’s what it’s all about.

Canes fans, on the other hand, are all about what we don’t deserve and didn’t earn. It’s weird. We gripe about “the media” and everyone else ****ting on us at every turn and all the unfair bias. Then we do the same thing to ourselves. It’s like whining about attendance but not going to the games. You’re either with us or against us, no?

I guess it’s a just Canes thing, who could ever understand.

Think it depends on how badly Clemson beats SMU. If Clemson wins easily, then we have a solid argument that we should get in over SMU. We have 2 close losses on the road to good teams. SMU would have a close home loss to a good team and a blowout neutral field loss to a playoff team. Both teams have similar caliber of wins and performance against common opponents.
 
Miami playing Texas 😂 thrill hill available. We can’t beat unranked nobody’s. Defense wins championships and we don’t have one.

I think if SMU beats Clemson the committee will likely opt for teams that draw viewership. People will want to see Cam play and us get destroyed.
