2) If Hurtt gets a major show cause it's a bad thing for us because it means the NCAA were able to corroborate this bull****. The NCAA has talked about putting more responsibility on coaches but also handing out more severe sanctions overall, so let's hope Feldman is wrong. I would rather Hurtt fight for our rejects (and let's be honest, that's all it will be from here on out), than us get hammered.

My big fear was that they were going to grant Hurtt some type of immunity if he started singing about Miami. It is very good news that the NCAA did not go that route and is holding coaches accountable. I am sure we will still get hit but I am very happy that the actual wrongdoers are going down. I think it can only lessen the blow against Miami.

Let me put some finality to this thread. Jermaine Grace was, is & will be a Miami Hurricane. For those who disagree, you're either a troll or have no idea what you're talking about in regards to Jermaine Grace. 100% Cane

I'm not guessing

Thanks, now how about some of that same type of assurance for Thomas, Collins, Coley, Kirkland, et al:)

Wish I could... Thomas, Collins & Kirkland I believe will be Canes but I'm by no means certain of that.

Thomas is the closest for me. The staff feel strongly he is coming.

Collins only makes sense to be a Cane but who knows what behind the scene garbage Gatewood is up to.

Kirkland I think is a Cane too. Cat kind of came out of the bag this weekend.

Up in the air on Coley.

with louisville's success in south florida since strong got hired, it wouldn't really be a shock if grace went there.

i guess you can read this thing two ways: "he wants to make his recruiting suspenseful" (which is a nice POV for a canes fan) or "he was shopping himself around because he's not 100% on miami"... i guess we'll see which wins out

Yes, it would be a ****ing shock if he went there. Every single one of your porsts is pure mopery, and UL doesn't beat out UM for kids that UM has recruited all year (and please don't include kids like Teddy Bridgewater who went to UL when there was a coaching change). Stop the bull****.

we lost keith brown and james burgess to them last year. golden is an excellent recruiter and got off to a great start, but we can't start saying that we have our south florida targets on lock until it happens several years in a row.

Did we even offer James Burgess? Were we going to take Keith Brown's brother last year knowing that scholarship reductions might be looming?

we did offer burgess and he flipped. and no, we weren't going to take brown's brother. but the fact is that every individual situation is unique. you can't sit there and say that we're getting all of our targets and then cherry-pick which ones don't count. i'm not knocking on golden because he's the best thing we've had in forever, but everyone said the same **** about randy after the 2008 class (that is not implying that i think they're anywhere on the same level because golden is a real coach, but you need to objectively critique).

You're right each situation is unique. And if you've paid attention the Grace situation has nothing in common with Brown or Burgess. Quite the opposite actually, so that's why the people are confident.

oh i wasn't implying any doubt on grace. i think the only way he doesn't come to us is if the school falls into a sinkhole. i was just saying that the blanket statement that we get all of our south florida targets is overreaching.

We getting Coley.

Coley's coach pulling for us is a plus. So who and how many do we take in this class..
MY guess:
6
Alex Collins
Denver Kirkland
Keith Bryant
Jaynard Bostwick
Stacy Coley
Rashard Robinson
Jermaine Grace
maybe a big time signing day suprise like always

I can't fathom how talented the canes will be on defense with those players. Or how good the running game will be with Collins and duke. And the passing game with Coley. If people think Louisville is on the come up for the left over South Florida recruits that they get (that the Big 3 dont want), then just wait till Miami gets the top notch players from South Florida. College Football should be very afraid.

Rashard Robinson would be the signing day surprise IMO. Not sure why but if I had to say one of those kids doesn't sign here it would be Kirkland. Just a guess nothing more.

Fair enough. I just don't think it's really appropriate to use Brown and Burgess as reasons why we should be worried about some of these other guys.

If we miss out on some of them, it won't be for lack of effort, which I guess is all you can really ask for.

I think Grace is one of the most givings and he's announcing very soon. I think some posters just assume because he's like 99.9% Cane!
