Beard has proven he can close. If Smith isn't listening, I don't think UM winning the acc championship would have changed his mind. He already knows he can be on the team with his friends, at home, and behind one of the best OLs in football. We don't have a QB but neither does FSU. Even with an erratic QB this season we had two two WRs that almost broke 1000 yards. So I don't know what else he needs to see.

I agree and I'll add, OSU's QB situation doesn't look great either even with Air Noland coming in. All the positive elements that you mentioned about UM plus the fact that they produced All-ACC WRs while being hog tied by the QB for half the year in an Offense that is going to continue to get better. If it were JS with Restrepo's stats in his junior year of college, we'd be talking about a very possible first round grade.

They do have a problem. Their classes havent been balanced. The class can be ranked highly but u got 4 top 100 WRs, a top 30 QB but the OL are meh and they are getting stuffed for DL. Thats why Michigan been pushing them around. Classes are ranked highly but unbalanced and yes they can win 11 games but the games that matter choke job. And they have looked poor in alot of games throughout the season.

Like Texas A&M over signing defensive tackles in 2022. After a point it’s just for pride, it’s actually doing your team a disservice. The Aggies had 16 defensive tackles on their 85 man roster…ridiculous. Other positions have to be sacrificed for the sake of bragging rights.

Guilty as charged. I'm certainly a mope when it comes to JJ, but hopeful enough that I can't stop clicking this thread. By all accounts it's not a foregone conclusion he ain't coming - but every time I read an interview of his the goalposts move further away. With Innis it seemed like he just needed one reason to stay, with JJ it seems like he just needs one reason to leave.
