Hartline is overrated. For as many players as he gets drafted he as just as many elite players flop.

Obviously if you sign 3/4 elite WRs yearly you will hit on some…. Ask Julian Fleming how good a coach he is.

I’d let Brian Monroe coach our WRs if he signed 3/4 elite guys a year, Mumble.

Somebody correct me if I’m wrong, but people in here are arguing that Miami has a better receiver room than Ohio St? I can see it being pretty close or better than FSU, but Ohio St??? They have two guys going first round in April and a couple more guys with first round potential. It’s not even 5 o’clock yet, put down the bottle.
Agreed. What's impressive is we're getting that production out of three 3-star recruits in Restrepo, Young, and George. Compared to OSU's multiple 5-star WR recruits. Give Dawson some of those 5-star WR recruits and the results would even more impressive.

I mean that was definitely some good years for him but I think what most people won't take into account I ain't never going to take credit from nobody where it's due I'm not not be fond of what Dion's doing right now but I'm not trying to take his achievements away from him Dion did that entirely on his own It was nothing about schematics or any of that with Rivas it was entirely based on the scheme divised around him. Rivas I literally used to look at him and tell people how to beat him and nine out of 10 it would work I mean obviously it's it's up to the quarterback and his ball placement but there's certain routes revis just wasn't built for physically.

Stevie Johnson was the only guy to consistanty eat vs Revis, which was great watching as a Bills fan.

Fleming will still be a pro. Veach in KC will scoop him up if he’s undrafted with connection they have from where they grew up. Fleming was one of the best skill players in PA in a long time, had he stayed healthy who knows how it shakes up. Easy to get buried in that room though.

Question if we could only have one who would ya choose? Smith or ellis robinson ?

Trying to follow along here and want to make sure I understand your position. Your saying looking at all 3 WR rooms the other two teams have more talent based on who they signed via portal or recruiting class?
Yeah I’d love to know what metric he’s using to make that wildly stupid statement. My guess is it’s the metric of “trust me bro, I played pop warner football when I was 8 and was a badass so I know what I’m talking about” metric!

Beautiful question. Was having this conversation with my brother a couple days ago. The way I see it, Ellis Robinson is the new truck you get when you’re a contractor and your work truck is 15+ years old. In other words, he’s the guy you need.

Jeremiah Smith is the Porsche GT3 you get when you keep that work truck and buy what you want.

Our offense is clicking without JJ but Maaaan where you can take this thing with a kid like that as he develops. Ellis Robinson is an absolute monster though. The second I saw him play, I wanted him so bad for our program. Kid is an absolute stud.

In reality, they’re both high end sports cars. It’s splitting hairs really because they’re equally as important on opposite sides of the ball. They’re both must gets for UM in my eyes.

Fleming will be in the portal after this year. Overrated bum

I'd take Robinson.

2 reasons.

1. He doesn't need anybody else around him to do his job.. He can shut down half the field without any help. JJ needs a good QB. Another good wr so he doesn't just get doubled every play. And a decent ol so the QB has time to throw.

2. You can put up points and a fun offense without an elite wr. This year is proof of that.

On point 2, I think we have traversed into the deep end with these takes. We are only 3 games into the season and have played one good team. Gotta give props to Dawson and the team because they look great but I wouldn’t say anything is proven just yet.

I think you make a solid point with 1 though and while I think other points can be made for Smith, it’s a strong argument.

I mean we still have Trader and Robinson committed. They're both better than our roster now. So we're still upgrading there.

And lots of teams have done well on offense without an elite WR.

Our CB committed now is Fredrique from STA. While I think he's talented, he's hardly what we need to take that next step.

Our CB recruiting is just underwhelming.
