Perhaps its my orange and green shades, but I see Miami and Georgia as two programs headed in complete opposite directions.
Our defense got exponentially better this year in every possible statistic - while also starting three freshmen LB's. And minus that horrid 4 game stretch, our offense also seemed much improved even with awful OL play and injuries.
Georgia on the other hand, appears to have regressed on both sides of the ball under Smart. I know he is just a freshman playing the most difficult position on the field, but Eason did not impress me. And for such a defensive mastermind, Georgia sure seemed to struggle with stopping opposing offenses.
For lack of a better term, we appear to be team that is "Trending Up." While Georgia appears to be in a complete rebuild. If Holloman can't see that and wants to put his career in the hands of James Coley, thats on him.
Kirby and that staff he put together can't coach crap. The best two coaches on staff are Rocker and Scherrer left overs from Richt staff. Kirbys only hope is recruiting and he currently has and will end up 2nd or 3rd in nation this year. If he can out athelete every team he at win a few.
If you paid attention to the Canes prior to Richt - Golden out recruited everyone in our conference sans Clemson and FSU. Talent without coaching and development is a guaranteed recipe for disaster.
