At this point I'd prefer Thomas over Smith. Want them both but Thomas is instant infusion of talent. I think Smith may need strength and weight to excel. Don't get it twisted I want both but if I'm applying pressure #1 to Thomas.

It's huge if Thomas ends up not making it to UL this weekend. To me, that essentially means we will have only one legit competitor. There's always the chance for a midweek visit (which never seems to have the same impact as a weekend), but I think the more likely scenario is he drops the UT visit for a UL reschedule.

Only downside of that scenario would be that UL (who most are saying is our biggest competition for Thomas) potentially gets the last visit. Still, I'm liking our chances.

If I'm being honest, I'm more concerned as to whether or not he will qualify academically. I know Pete has said chances are looking more realistic, but do we know any specifics there? Grades, test score issues?

Yeah Smith is a little taller, longer with solid hands while Thomas more dynamic with the yac and return game it's a toss up though hope we get both tbh

The Illinois board is saying that he just received a qualifying test score and that is why he is receiving a lot more interest.

Agreed. His combination of speed and cutting ability (maintaining his speed through the cut) is lethal. Dare I say, reminds me of another player who wore #4 .... We'll just have to see on that one, though.

Yeah, I mean even if Jeudy mysteriously came back into the picture, my number 1 WR is still JT. The real need at WR is for that super fast/quick WR. We already have a 6'6" guy coming in and already have big guys like Cager and Dayall. Jeudy is more athletic, but fit more in the AR style. I would not mind at all if we unspool lineups with JT and AR on the outside and Berrios in slot. To me, that's a winning combo.

Pair that with some expected improvements on the OL and you might have enough O for the D to win most of our games. That formula certainly worked for Bama this year.

I think it's close and mostly about preference but both are future stars. Smith is smooth and does everything you want as a receiver especially make the tough catches almost look easy. Thomas in the slot and basically anywhere in the field is a mismatch if he gets a good cut so its a toss up

If we get this kid, I guarantee you he's gonna have a way more productive year here than Juedy will have at KKKU.

Don't have a way of tracking who gave the infraction. Stuff like that gets said here all day. I don't see the problem. Franchise would be off the board if we give infractions for this stuff. My recommendation would be to dial it back on infractions for these or risk losing a lot of posters. This was pretty mild stuff.

Or you would have a better quality board.

I lurk at times but never post because it's an experiment in futility here. Can't visit a single thread without drowning in 10 pages of idiots calling each other names.

There's a balance to keeping a free, open board and censoring commentary. If you'll notice my own comments, I don't ever address posters; simply the posts. I also don't name call, which is not something your very own post (where you call people idiots) on subject can uphold. Ironic. We'd love to model that behavior, but accept it's unlikely to be maintained as much as we'd like on a free board.

Here's the magic of it: you're in control. You can ignore posters (literally, put them on ignore), threads, skip through content, etc. Or, here's the next step. If the nature of this board isn't for you, there are others you can visit. I suspect you "lurk at times" because of the lack of discussion, content, updates and even substantive discussion you face in other board options.
