Jeff James !!

People clown on Donofrio, but if he had the sense to ask what Ed Reed ran, he would have a different response. Love my safetys to look like Sean Taylor, but safeties first and foremost need to be instinctive football players. Next, I want them physical. If they can run and jump like Sean, that makes them super special.

gets caught from behind a lot. how fast is this kid?

That's fine....as long as he gets the turnover, im cool with it

He's catching balls that were lobbed up directly to him. Maybe that's a good thing, IDK. Probably less likely in D1 though. I don't see anything special about this kid athletically.

Dallas Crawford had a lot of picks in high school.... different game in college where speed is a must.

Hadn't taken the time to watch the kid's tape until today, but hey hey heyyyy!

Impressive athlete. Smart, instinctive.

Gonna be a year or two, but kid will see PT.

Ed Ran 4.52 at his workout I think. He was plenty fast enough. I don't know what this guy runs but I'd like to see us get away from safeties that run 4.7 and 4.8 and such. The way the game is going the main thing I'd look for in a safety is flexibility--a good tackler who is agile enough to cover as well. I see no issue with turning corners into safeties. Brandon Meriweather is a fairly recent guy who fits the mold of a good safety now--very smart college player who could play nickel corner with no issue at all. A guy like that gives you a ton of flexibility in your defense whereas a plodder is a liability.

Nothing jumps out to me besides he has good hands and tracks the ball well. The INT's, most could be made by a lot of players at the position. One of them though, he really gets up for it.

Safety is a position that you need to see game footage of though. Unless you're just a freak athlete or crush people, there's not a lot of difference in most films. So really, I'll reserve judgement.

Decent speed and he's listed at 6'1 which I would say looks to be generous.

According to the WEZ he's a psychotic person

Me likely

Go on.......(I'm too lazy to go over to the WEZ and look myself)

A good friend of mine coaches high school football in South Florida. His brother is on the Olympia roster. This is all 100% real.

He only started playing football because they were giving away free pizza at tryouts.
He tried to fight the team's bus driver on the way to a game because he wouldn't turn off into a McDonald's.
He forgot what coverage was on for a play so he ran up to the LOS picked up the ball and fired it at the other team's sideline to buy time.
After he got on the team he wore his helmet to class for the first week of the season.

You remember the Malice at the Palace? After Ron Artest knocked out the fat Mexican guy, they were dragging him off the court and he just kind of snapped. His eyes were dead and he was just blankly staring around -- that's Jeff James all the time. He's got the crazy eyes. There's nothing up top.

He is also rumored to have wanted/tried to wear his beats under his helmet.

Got some real skills with the ball too. Great vision, knows how to set up angles and routinely cuts to open space.
