This from uf 247 site a couple weeks ago.

Former Florida cornerback J.C. Jackson was an incredibly talented player, slated to start for Florida at cornerback in 2015, ahead of eventual second-team All-American Jalen Tabor.

That is, until he was arrested and charged with armed robbery in May. Jackson was acquitted of all charges in November, and he transferred to Riverside (Cal.) Community College.

Now, Jackson is looking for a new home. And an FBS program in the state sounds interested, according to a report by the Miami Herald.

The Herald writes:

UM, in need of immediate help at cornerback, plans to pursue former UF four-star defensive back J.C. Jackson, who was acquitted on armed robbery charges in November, according to his defensive backs coach at Riverside (Cal.) Community College. That coach, Isaac Shipp, told me that UM cornerbacks coach Mike Rumph called him, asked for Jackson’s number, and “said he’s very interested in JC and will be recruiting him hard.”

Jackson was ahead of Tabor and fellow cornerback Quincy Wilson on the depth chart during spring practice a year ago. Both had terrific seasons for the Gators.

He was been described by those close to the program as one of the best pure athletes to come through Florida in years.

The Herald reports Jackson is on track to graduate in May and will be eligible to play at an FBS school this fall. He has also received interest from South Carolina and former Florida coach Will Muschamp, as well as South Florida.

First of all, please consider the source. This is from 247 a pay site. Secondly, They used the term "slated" which only means that he was a candidate to start at CB. So, if we put this in terms of UM spring 2012 you could have said Gus Edwards was slated to start over Duke Johnson because the spring depth chart had the starting RB position as Johnson or Edwards. But most people that follow UM knows that this was meant as motivation for both players. But no way in **** Edwards was going to start over Johnson.

This was from Florida 247 site not Miami. And Gus was never slated to start over Duke. I provided facts and now you have nothing to say.

It wasn't motivation for JC. The guy is talented is ****. Miami fans wanted this dude badly when he came out of high school.

No you did not provide facts. You provided someones opinion. Facts would be the final depth chart.

We need ballers. Is it possible to have to many ballers? No, so stack the chips and lets teabag the competition.

Look....JC Jackson clearly ain't the sharpest knife in the drawer.

If he were smart, he would be begging Miami to consider and admit him. Mark Richt is the perfect guy to resurrect his career. South Carolina is a BAD choice. Why would you go play for the same coaches that were overseeing your development when you got in trouble?

Unfortunately, it does not appear JC is smart enough to realize the opportunity Miami might be willing to give him. Instead, he wants to play the recruiting game again.

"They have a fair chance," Jackson said. "That's my home team."

JC...the answer should be "if Miami wants me I would be forever grateful for the 2nd chance and would commit on the spot."

I have a feeling Richt won't chase him....nor should he. This kid still needs to learn humility.

I agree with you 100% when you say the guy is talented and athletic as ****. He would be a huge get for UM. But that other BS you put out there... He said She said... better than a 2nd Team All-American and not be able to back that BS up then I got a problem with that. Because I know better.

He said Miami is number 1 for him. The staff hasn't offered yet because they are waiting to see if he graduates in may. All of this is according to barry jackson.

He also said if jc doesn't finish up in may the staff would likely pass on him.

You don't know better. The coaches at uf must have thought he was pretty **** good. It wasn't like people knew tabor was going to be a all-american last year.

The point is if jc was good enough to potentially start over him and quincy that says a lot.

I would have to question the coaches ability to evaluate talent if they were going to start an unproven FR over a player Tabor who skills later proved to be on the level of All-American. So when you put this into perspective it does say a lot. The coaches wasn't as good as you claim in evaluating talent. But I'm more incline to believe that they knew that he had exceptional talent and were using him to get the best out of the two corners starting above him. That's what good teams do, they recruit good talent to push the starters, it creates competition. That's why spring depth charts will often times show many backups as starters. But the final depth chart will look much different in the fall.

I'm still in "temper my expectations" mode. Lingering affects from previous idiots that I'm still being medicated for. This would be huge for Miami and Mike Rumph's public relations department. Hopefully the kid graduates in May for his sake wherever he decides to play.

You need help. How do you know jc isn't just better than Tabor. They were in the same recruiting class. Tabor was coming off his freshman season and jc redshirted because of injury. Before that injury jc was being projected to play over tabor as a true freshmen.

So if he was going to play over Tabor as a freshman and was going to start over him last year, that sounds like jc just might be better to me.

But keep digging in your *** looking for straws to pull out to keep hating. There is a reason uf fans want him to come back there.

In football one is often measured to be best by health, playing time, and statistics.

Tabor = Stayed Healthy, Was a Starter, and Statistical data proved 2nd Team All-American

JC = Injured, Didn't make the final Roster, and Zero Statistics

Best Player = Tabor (Any intelligent person can see that.)

so your saying he is better because JC didn't play right? Doesn't mean he has more talent than JC just means he stayed out of trouble or didn't get injured. JC has a ton of upside

Adding this guy would be awesome. Highly motivated to get to the NFL and would correct the blunder of the Golden regime letting him get away in the first place. Between him and the guy from Texas it would more than make up for being 2 DB's short on signing day from the recruiting class while also preserving future openings to take a big class in 2017. Win-win-win situation. Hopefully we can close the deal.

Forget about the arguments around how good Corn is, only thing that matters is Corn, JC, Redwine, Colbert, Jenkins, Carter, and Jaquan would give us a pretty good assembly of DB's heading into the season. Pretty sure that's 5 guys who were consensus 4 star recruits coming out of HS. Would certainly elevate that position overall from what was looking like the biggest weakness on the team on NSD.

No only you see it that way. The guy was beating tabor out 2 years in a row and you came to the conclusion that the guy losing the battle 2 years in a row is better. Yep that makes sense.
