You know whatelse is a fact, UM hasnt had any success at those schools in a decade. Just cuz u have a friend thats a waterboy on staff overthere doesnt mean **** do boy. Evidence is evidence several talented players from that school have left miami high n dry. So idc what the ppl u know say the evidence saids something else. Peace n dont comment on my ****. Papertiger!!!!
***** I'M ON THE STAFF. How 'bout that? And I'm telling your dumb a$$ WTF going on, goofy. Now sit your stupid a$$ on the sidelines like the rest of these gossiping a$$ females and perpetuate rumors.
Offering and ACTIVELY RECRUITING are 2 different things. It's hard to understand because it does not add up.
The last staff offered him as a Sophomore. He committed to OU. This staff reached out to him fairly early in their tenure. He has made it pretty clear he likes Clemson. And he goes to a school in Broward that doesn't have a strong relationship with UM in recent history.
Too little, too late? No. More like it was never going to happen. If this kid had any real desire to play at UM, then this staff reaching out to him a full year before NSD wouldn't be an obstacle (see, e.g., Washington & f$u). Sometimes there just isn't anything that can be done.
Offering and ACTIVELY RECRUITING are 2 different things.
Oh sooooo ur the "hydration specialist" lmao. No wonder we dnt pull kids from there, the gits think every cane fan is like u lol. W.e. man hola at me wen knighton commits elsewhere til then take pride in getting that water big boy.***** I'M ON THE STAFF. How 'bout that? And I'm telling your dumb a$$ WTF going on, goofy. If Knighton commits elsewhere it still won't prove ****, dummy.Oh sooooo ur the "hydration specialist" lmao. No wonder we dnt pull kids from there, the gits think every cane fan is like u lol. W.e. man hola at me wen knighton commits elsewhere til then take pride in getting that water big boy.
Nothing if the kid likes another school better.I would honestly like to know what exactly, in your opinion, this staff could have done to get Knighton to commit.
I would guess we end up at the same place: not a **** thing. But maybe I'll be surprised.
Lmfao the "myth" continues. ***** ANTI-MIAMI bag chasing sellouts. Anyways have a good year coach. Over Under on the number of kids we get from Deerfield over the next decade is 1.5.If Knighton commits elsewhere it still won't prove ****, dummy.
Nothing if the kid likes another school better.
On that we agree.
I can't speak on an "anti-Miami bias" at Deerfield, but what I know is (for whatever reason) we haven't done well there for the handful of highly touted recruits coming through in the last 15 years. I can't tell you why, but the results are what they are.
I'm not saying this to degrade anybody but none of y'all are closer to Deerfield and their staff then I am. And I'm telling you...not guessing...TELLING YOU...that Miami is good in Buck territory, especially now that Diaz and staff are at Miami.
AND A DEERFIELD KID GOING ELSEWHERE DOES NOT CHANGE THAT.
Kids are going to go where they want to go. Just cause Knighton goes to Clemson, Alabama, Oklahoma, whoever...doesn't mean Deerfield is anti-Miami. You guys keep talking about this anti-Miami conspiracy but the truth is, Deerfield hasn't even had that many Miami caliber players. I talked to Knighton all the time and although he likes Clemson he is certainly not anti-Miami.
Look how many Miami caliber players American Heritage has had over the years versus how many we've signed from there. Nobody talks about an anti-Miami biased going on over there. They've had like 49 Miami caliber players and we've gotten...what...two? Deerfield has had maybe 5 over the years.
Well we've absolutely sucked on the field + we had poor recruiters.
What school has Miami done well at? The elite kids, more often than not, are going to other schools.
Deerfield has only had a handful of Miami caliber kids. Compare that to the amount of kids Heritage and STA have had. Has Miami done well at those schools? (No) We get a kid here and there, but we ain't getting their elite kids.
Excellent post Matt! Thanks for the overview. Looks like he is a play-maker!Jaylan Knighton was one of the biggest names last weekend at The Opening in Miami. While he just came short of winning the running back MVP, he did enough to get invited to The Opening finals in Dallas.
“It was great. I got the invite (to the finals).”
When asked which other players stood out to him, Knighton answered without hesitation.
“Don Chaney. Great running back. Also, Derek Wingo.”
Switching over towards high school football, Knighton and the rest of the Deerfield Beach squad are looking forward to a revenge tour during the 2019 season after failing to reach the state championship in 2018.
“We gotta try to punish everybody. We have got a tough schedule this year, but we aren’t scared of anybody. We’re ready.”
Clemson, FSU, Alabama, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Utah are the schools Knighton feels are recruiting him the hardest, but he has also publicly named Clemson as his leader. His thought process on this is pretty clear.
“The brotherhood, the relationships they have. It’s a winning program.”
Clemson is selling Knighton on being the successor at running back to Travis Etienne and the Clemson staff sees a lot of similarities between the two. Although Clemson remains the favorite, Miami has worked hard in an attempt to catch up to the top group.
“Coach (Eric) Hickson, coach (Manny) Diaz, they have contacted me. We are just building that relationship right now. This staff has shown me more love, and they are just showing me how I fit in the system.”
Knighton plans on taking some official visits this spring. While we do not know where he will take his official visits, we do know when to expect a decision.
“I will be committing the first week of August, probably August 2nd.”
Even at our worst, we have done (at least) ok at STA. And certain schools like MNW and Booker T have consistently put guys in UM uniforms, under even Golden and Shannon.
You'll get no argument from me on Heritage.
But a school like Killian has only had a handful of Miami quality players the last decade (like Deerfield), but we've managed to pull those dudes (Miller, Redwine, Quan).
