Jawon Hamilton Sr Highlights

Just watched dude's highlights, better than any of the guys committed, on the roster, and targeting outside aime. Will it transfer to college? Who knows but dude is legit.

Not pressed over no 5'9 running back... Those types ain't winning the heisman or Mark richt type backs. He doesn't recruit small running backs, get used to it

You're an idiot. Not surprising.

You slurped Alfredo til the end and now you're slurping Richt.

Hamilton is a great player and we will regret this.

But most of the posters on this site are more worried about stars and offers than ability.

Kid is very gifted and kicks Whaley's *** everyday and twice on Sundays.

I'd still take Whaley. The one thing that stood out to me in this young man's video more than his running ability, how bad the tackling was. Don't get me wrong, some of that is him, but half those runs are a result of loss poor tackling. He's a faster Yearby without the cuts so the improved speed wouldn't matter.

He's a solid player. The type of kid who will go to a UCF or USF and make some plays.

Runs upright, decent long speed but lacks a real elite burst or agility. Vision is average, mostly he just hits open holes hard (meant as a compliment) and keeps his legs churning.

First time I've spent real time looking at him and I'd pass on him. Doesn't really bring anything we don't have and the future upside is minimal. I'd save the spot for a guy with more burst and playmaking ability, personally.

This is one of the few times we see something very different. Not on the taking him part. I don't know enough about him or what our plan is to say whether or not we should take him. We can pass and I wouldn't blink. But, he doesn't look like an upright runner to me. He actually natural to me.

I watched another minute to see if I remembered accurately. Just randomly skipped to somewhere in the video. In the minute or so I re-watched, he pressed the hole a couple times and bounced outside well. On a trap play (iirc) that was to be blown up, he cutback in the backfield, went upfield and then cutback again at the 2nd level. His vision may not be Frank Gore's, but I don't see the "he just hits open holes."

If I remember any areas of struggle (besides the obvious that he lacks "that" pop/acceleration) that were reconfirmed in the shorter watch, they are (1) his lack of elite cutback ability and (2) some balance issues.

It's always good to get another perspective. I might try and find an actual game of his and see if it changes my view any.

I like watching full games a lot more anyway.

Warrick Dunn was 5'9. The ability to be shifty and get your pad level lower then the tackler (which Hamilton would be able to do) is key. Height isn't all that important with RBs. ****, Darren Sproles is 5'7/5'6.

Duke is 5'9. This is just a dumb statement. Alot of RB are 5'9

I have no problem with a 5'9 running back. A couple of good ones were listed above, but all of them had a lot more wiggle than Hamilton.

I said this regarding Desmond Phillips, but i think it applies here as well:

Seriously. Everyone thinks every random 2 star from some ****hole in S FL is gonna end up to be the next Antonio Brown.

There are probably hundreds of kids like this every year in S FL. It's a ****ing crapshoot. How the **** do you know which one to pick?

Get Homer and i dont give a flying **** about the rest of the RB class.
