Coaching Jason Taylor convo

I agree, which is why I asked the question.. DLine plays with no fundamentals. Have no counter moves. Dont use their hands to get off blocks. Don't even anchor all that well.. .. Our "good players" only have 1 rush move.
Everyone saying we stunt too much. Well, we don't stunt every play, and when we do, they don't succeed.. yet, seemingly every team that stunts against us, they usually get to Cam untouched
We do stunt far too often, so it doesn't catch the offense off guard. It also opens up easy run lanes.

Worse though is how bad we execute the stunts at times. When the edge guy has to sit and wait for the DT to cross his face, it's counterproductive bc a straight rush allows him to get upfield faster. The need to execute better and mix up the stunts...sometimes allowing the DE to crash quicky with the DT, like Mesidor who's athletic, to loop around. And instead of stunting, use some slants with backside crashing by the Backer or Nickel. This D is so predictable that i call it out to my buddy pre-snap.

Lol...Taylor catching strays while yall hand out stacks of free passes to his boss.
Yall wild af.
Who's handing out free passes? Guidry should be fired on the flight home .. but the DLine is clearly regressing and not developing, which is why I ask if Taylor should be questioned as well ..
It's a conversation worth discussing because nobody on this staff deserves a pass (except maybe Mirabal and Beard)

DL is overrated-

Bain and Barrow have been good-

Baron has done nothing after the first 3 games-

Mesidor he’s done some good things but, he’s small on the inside -

Our depth isn’t very good either-

GT OL probably the best we faced this year-

No one on the team plays with high IQ, proper tackling technique, or with an understanding of what the offense wants to accomplish in certain situation.

This has long been coming. A team that wants to bleed the clock, stay in front of the chains, and limit Miami on explosive plays.

How the coaches didn't set a game plan for that is beyond me. This is simply not a game you should ever lose, but yet they did, because they didn't game plan in a way that set them up for success.

Taylor hasn't had players develop to a place I'm overwhelmed by, but he isn't calling all the games up front, either.
This is not the first time they've seen GT, yet no one was prepared. A QB on one leg is beating you to the edge. Make that make sense. UM has found a way to lose to GT two years in a row. That is unacceptable. I'm calling for an upgrade at DC and DB coach. No one coaches with high IQ or an understanding of what the offense or defense wants to do.

JT coaches ends. Other coach is DTs. I can teach you all the bend, dip and rip, and swat the hands all day but if you are never put into that position to use those skills its a waste. See how Pickett got off on the snap and beat the tackle with the dip and rip against Duke. Players on the edge have that skillset they are just not being put into position to use the strengths. All Pickett knew was "go" and played accordingly. When these guys know know blood in the water like the 4th quarter against Duke and all UF game they will eat. But when a team can neutralize that aggression with a decent run game that's when Guildry starts that guessing which way the play is going and starts that stunting mess.

Seriously! At this point give him the DC role….he can’t possibly be any worse than G5 Guidry.
Don’t get me wrong I think the DL has been a huge disappointment

But I don’t think it’s just magically Taylor’s fault or anything

To your point I'm not sure Clyde Simmons, Jerome Brown, Mike Golic & Reggie White could do much better if they were told to stunt every ******* play

Yeah sometimes I’m not sure if Guidry does it so much because our guys have shown they can’t get home traditionally?

Barrow is the only guy that has been doing it all year and he keeps getting banged up

Guidry stunts those guys WAY TOO MUCH!!! They literally ran themselves outta gaps GT was running in. Barron crashed down the whole game.
Would love to know what his stats were today, I did notice they were running to his side more knowing he loves to crash and give up the perimeter.

When you DC calls for looping stunts, has the DEnds jump inside when the opposing team is determined to get to the outside. the D-Line is gonna look like shiiii t
Exactly! I wonder if he’s calling these horrible stints or our d ends are doing it on their own…I’m guessing the former

Spot on as always brother. Can only hope for a wake up call. This team needs to get in a fist fight during the bye imo

Hasn’t been a game plan all year. Not sure if our coach’s know what that is. It’s wait and see what the other team does, then hope Cam can bail us out.
