I'm not a golden basher, but this move totally looked like a cover to give Williams the job back. AG has proven one thing to me for sure. He will ride with his sr qb! That is Ryan Williams. He was looking for a guy to hold the reigns until RW was ready. And not lose any of his young guys confidence, or the team leadership. AG really pays attention to who the team will follow, who the team views as the leader. He does so to a fault. He should have gone to SM at the end of JH's tenure and he should have gone to RW late last year. But he sticks with the guy he thinks the team supports most. He knows these guys love RW. But he does not want to shatter a guy like Olsens confidence so he brings in a guy like Heaps to hold the fort down until RW is healthy. Calling it now, RW will start at Nebraska no matter what happens in the first three games, possible that he goes to split scenario, but he is waiting to give it back to RW. Just like Rs was waiting to give the reigns to JH over RM. It was obvious to all of us. I could see RW getting a lot of second team reps in blow out wins in the second two games of the year, if healthy enough.
I just don't think Olsen can possibly play well enough to win the job from Heaps, because if he can play that well he would have been a lot closer to RW when he got hurt and it was obvious he was waaayyy behind in the qb battle. Just my opinion...
