Jaden Harris Mom is not having it

I'm always conflicted on issues like this because I'm a fan... but I'm also a coach.

As soon as X fumbled that ball I looked around the bar and was like "say somethin!"

So I can get defensive myself, I can imagine what it's like being a parent and watching guys with beer guts calling your son "trash".
But at the same time, the fan in you is like "c'mon man!"

I'm of the minority that thinks Harris is actually a talented kid. I think he got misused and was a victim of poor development/coaching...because frankly NOBODY at the Safety spot looked good...including the 5-star.

Parents have to learn how to detach their feelings. Truth is, 90% of fans can't even tell you what all is going on between the whistle. They don't know what the Safety's responsibility was on a given play, they dont know what the coaches asked him to do, etc etc etc. Even on Friday nights, some of the stuff I hear in our stands is like "huh?".
Whole time the fans blaming a kid, and it was his coach that told him to do X/Y/Z.

Just gotta block it out.

Pretty sure his coach not only got bashed on social media but also got fired.

I don’t make it personal with insults but if a player isn’t good, he’s just not good. There’s a limit what coaches can do with a player. They can teach them technique, they can try to mask deficiencies. You could hire the best defensive back coach in history and he wouldn’t be able to turn me into a capable coverage corner because I suck.
Thats why I added their other responsibility is to get someone better in lol. Its that simple

It probably sounds dumb but I think there’s a difference between saying someone plays like trash and someone is trash. Like criticize the play not the person unless the person does some ****ed up stuff

With this team I usually try and criticize the coaches anyway. If a kid is out there playing like **** that’s the coaches fault to me
That depends to me, alot of the time they just are what they are but yea sometimes it could be scheme.

Plus like let’s be honest

When we are sitting here watching from the sidelines and talking **** about players from behind our little keyboards

And pretending THEY are the soft ones?

And WE are the tough guys?

Like come the **** on. It’s all kind of pathetic really

They have signed what 4 defensive backs from the portal with another one coming in the next portal session? So the coaches who are still employed are at least trying to replace the faulty ones pieces

Nobody was isolating Harris and targeting him with words and thoughts. You could scan this board all week after the game and see a slew of players getting heat.

To the comment about not knowing responsibilities I agree I don’t know anything about the concepts from the basic plays we ran back in HS but when I see players coming over to him ****ed and annoyed after a broken play well it’s not hard to see whose responsibility it was

oh I know they would body me but im just judging there skill compared to other great players we have had or around cfb. I can say someone is trash full and well knowing they would slump me, but im willing to take that risk, pause

Just a football mom on social media emotional defending her son. Nothing to see here man, i wish them the best. He just wasn’t a fit here

I’m with you. It’s just social media

I’ve had death threats before and lawsuits threatened for some things I say

It’s just the way of the world now no repercussions for us running our mouths

But if it bothers you just turn it off

I have no issue with fan criticism even if a bit childish. I do it too.

I draw a line at insulting a player's character over his play.

Only the most miserable of a man would seek out a player or players parent on social media. That is scummy.

Jaden had a terrible year and I'm glad we're seeking better players at that position. But I'm with Mom here with the name-calling. Too many of our fans are too fast and loose calling players "jags" and "garbage". This is not the NFL.
Don't kid yourself with this isn't the NFL...these kids are getting paid, in some cases a loot of money. Underwood, who hasn't played a down at Michigan, is making more than Brock Purdy, though that will soon change

Where do you think your Canes Connection money goes?

No matter how small your donations, the fans have the right to share opinions on players how you see fit.

They are helping pay their salaries at the end of the day.

He would be the first one to tell you he did not perform as well as he wanted, but may be part of that had to do with him needing surgery that the team wouldn’t let him get and push it off to the off-season, and no one wants to acknowledge that part as well. Funny how he fell up to Georgia though, huh
