2026 Jackson Cantwell 5* OT from Nixa, MO

@DMoney 2026 OT's UA game write up

Jackson Cantwell (Nixa, MO) was the backup RT and had some very ugly reps in pass protection. You can tell he barely pass blocks in high school. He has a great frame and elite power in his hands, but didn't really get to show it much in this game. He may need a slow developmental burn before blossoming like Spencer Brown of the Buffalo Bills. I wouldn't rush him to the field.

Fair. Elite size and athlete though. IMO he’s the future RT here.

At some point spending $60-$100M per year on a college football vanity project will be unviable.

LMAO at "At some point."

The idea is preposterous and unviable; anyone suggesting otherwise is optimistic, at best.

let's ask ourselves who is going to fund these massive NIL collectives? Conference pay outs? Boosters? Die hards (like us)?

A couple million aint **** to muster up with boosters and die hards.

60 - 100 million is a completely different ballgame, especially when the cash cow has to subsidize title 9 athletic teams.

Operations that rely on the benevolence of fans and university supporters are destined to fail. They are gonna have to find another way. Who the **** donates cash money to the NY Yankees, or the Miami Dolphins? The idea is ludicrous. The organizations get paid when they fill stadiums, sell merch, and draw eyes to television screens. Begging fans for money is an embarrassment - especially for professional organizations. T

"SIN VERGUENZA" seems to be the mantra...

Bottom line: I'm not donating cash to some high school prospect to "commit" to a professional team. I will buy season tickets, merch, and watch games IF the product on the field provides me with a ROI on monies spent. That's just how it will be for me, and plenty of others.

I don't think this stupid project works out in the long run.

Feels like the evaluation for Pancake though....hasn't worked out so well. But trust in these in the trenches.

Are we sure Pancake isn't just fine? He's behind some good players playing on productive offensive lines

People have no patience. We need Pancake next year. RS Junior and he’ll be in prime position to start, make a big impact and hopefully go to the league. The next two offseason are huge for him. He just needs to stay healthy.

We’re losing potentially 5 guys next year. Pancake is an essential piece to keep this great OL going

He could be just fine and develop slower. But the reality is a guy came from junior college and immediately got snaps that you'd have thought he might have a chance for in year 2 and now that guy seems ready to take the role for a year or more.

This is a fair eval. His team started a sophomore QB and had a senior rb that ran for almost 3,000 yards, breaking the school record that was set 3 years ago. Nixa ran for almost 500 yards in the semifinals against my Alma mater Kirkwood, but Cantwell had a much harder time getting movement against the #3 ranked player in Missouri in his class, DL Titan Davis(6’5 240) from DeSmet in the state final.
