Recruiting these days is just NIL budget. Napier didn’t “out recruit” Mario for any of those guys. Hanks was a UF legacy, and we spent our NIL money on players other than Montgomery and Flowers. As to which school/coach made the better personnel decisions, well that won’t be known for another 2-3 years. But this isn’t like the old days when a certain head or assistant coach would have all the juice in a specific region. Today the issue is simply which school is willing to offer the most $$$. Now when the money is even or close, sure recruiting comes into play, but it’s pretty limited to that scenario these days.

All that BS kids say about love, or attention, or even playing time, is just BS. Money talks. Everything else walks.

We didn’t push for Montgomery, Hanks was a legacy that was a near impossible pull for us, we allowed them to outbid us for Flowers.

I’ll worry when they win a battle over a local recruit we highly covet where we have a real home field advantage.
