You win some and you lose some. Tough loss.
This is all that needs to be said

Every time we lose a recruit it’s oh his gf is going there, oh he’s asking for too much, oh his parent is this..But when we get someone it’s mario is a beast, he’s making sure uf knows who’s boss, he winning big boy recruitm etc etc bunch of bs cope

Wasn’t Dennis pivotal in getting Cam here?

Or are we just at the point of the show where we blame every recruiting miss we’ve had on him?

Look, I realize that Dennis is a very persistent recruiter. And maybe things work out better when he is chasing 21 year old QBs and offering market-high NIL money (Cam Ward, Carson Beck).

But Dennis's shctick doesn't work as well when he is screaming at 18 year old kids who have the nerve to ask if Miami wants to match their latest NIL high-offer.

Dennis deserves the blame for his mistakes. Chasing a couple of proven QBs, who didn't have a lot of great counter-offers (Cam to F$U???) does not absolve him of his errors.

Got a feeling this will hurt Miami in the future, and that's not a guess. Billy came straight into Miami and took 3 high rated players. UF is slowly but surely making inroads with Miami NW. You don't want them to put a pipeline there.
Heard this before. In a vacuum I guess. When will it be clear Miami can't sign every home kid. Painting a picture like lunch money is being lifted is a gator esq reach.

And I know that your response will make @cway313 **** in his pants.

The reality, for now, is that Mario has replaced Dennis with a very competent team of guys. So, for now, I'm less worried about the blame game, I'm just pointing out that Jeremiah Smith and his family (and the families of three other 2024-2025 recruits) did not like Dennis.

We can't change the past, but we can fix the future.

What I’m saying about Dennis isn’t directed at your comments. There’s a lot of people that have been *****ing about Dennis for years and not in a sour grapes way

When it comes to recruiting it’s Mario’s bread and butter and I give him a lot of credit

Our fans though will take any shred of “insider” info and build massive fantasy narratives on it though is what I’m talking about

They think every single kid from down here actually WANTS to come to Miami and we're just fumbling all of em lol smh dont know how long it will take CIS to realize alot of kids down here dont fux w/ Miami like that no matter what u think of the fact. I remember hooping with some pretty good recruits from down here (one who was actually committed to Miami n later flipped) n all of em(including the one who was commited here) were pretty much saying Miami was *** n BAMA was the place to be. I just remember thinking like wait aint this jit committed to us!?:snoopfacepalm:

The sky isn’t falling, but your statement of “Miami can’t sign every home kid” isnt accurate either

I hope DB recruiting gets fixed with the 2026 cycle, but god **** Mario needs to prevent these kind of recruiting losses from happening, because paying out the *** for transfers for the majority of your 2-deep isn’t sustainable

It’s head scratching and infuriating watching Miami miss out on DB’s the past 5 or so years

We did just literally steal their best DB recruit in the 2026 class

Lots of teams have lost recruits to us because we spent more on the prospect than they were willing to do. So it works both ways

Not saying you’re wrong of course just not too worried about this one in particular

I don't think anyone will argue evals and recruiting have not been on par with other position groups. I thought the class just signed looks promising. The portal group on paper looks solid. That could and may change opinions quick if it comes together.

I trust the staff. There's plenty of things to get upset with. Recruiting is not one.

I think there's more pressure with the QB room. Portal has been banging. My issue is nickel is the great hope. Otherwise it's 3 cycles of misses.

This recruitment was entirely decided by the fact that he reclassified extremely late and AFTER we just signed a very large HS CB class, and spent big in the Portal where we just added 3 top DBs and 1 Developmental DB. That's really all there is to it. Spending big on Flowers in that context, always made little sense. Had he reclassified BEFORE the 25 class signed, Im sure many of us would have wanted him even ahead of some guys we did land. But that's not the actual timeline of events. And we have more pressing needs and a need to be smart with how we spend it for spring portal. Simple as that.
