We've played no where near the level of a 7-2 team. The only thing that kept people from saying anything sooner was the fact that we were able to pull out close games against inferior opponents. There hasn't been one game this year where I looked at this team and said to myself, "this team is one of the best in CFB". We barely beat a UF team that now looks like a dumpster fire and had to go to the final drive to beat two bad teams in UNC and Wake. Like I said, winning covers up a lot of deficiencies and now that we've gotten our *** handed to us in two straight games, it's time to look at those deficiencies under the microscope.

Also, the excuses from coaches is really starting to **** me off. They seem to realize the mistakes week in and week out, but they haven't fixed or adjusted a **** thing. They have conveniently blamed it on players not executing the scheme. If 3rd year players haven't figured out your ******* scheme by now, change the ******* scheme to something they can ******* execute.

But VT didn't even play good yesterday. **** they made so many mistakes, BTW would have beat the crap out of them. As for the general SCHEME, I happen to think you guys are WRONG. I dont think the BIGGEST problem is the scheme itself. The SCHEME seems to work a lot of OTHER places. I was watching VERY closely last night, and our guys are LOST out there. Our LB play is HORRIFIC, and that falls SQUARELY on Coach D. Our DL play is not much better. Guys were blowing assignments almost EVERY play. They DONT know what they are doing. That isnt the fault of a defensive philosophy, its the fault of POOR coaching who cant get these players to learn the system, and ADJUST the scheme to maximize what they are working with.

I am now CONVINCED that Coach D must go, but the HCs job is a **** of a lot more than making defensive adjustments. There are really only TWO quarters of football this whole season where we have just been dominated. The second half against FSU. Last night, we killed OURSELVES with stupid mistakes. I sat in the rain till the very end and that **** was disgraceful. Were 7-2 but the way we lost last night was a shame. It's not oh well, it's we have a major problem w the defensive philosophy here

I was at the game. Best home game turnout since UF (and that was largely due to high attendance by **** fans). This game was high percentage Canes fans, the lion's share of which were there into the 4th quarter having been totally soaked all game long, while getting their hearts punched by a defensive effort that acted like the forward pass was just invented.

Maddening, but we stayed until the end, pondering how seemingly zero half time adjustments were made, how is it how suddenly we can't tackle, and mustered a crummy 28 yards of ground game - while the VT fans were all giggly in our house celebrating in the rain. The fans were there, all wondering where the **** was our team!

That sums it up, and it's a legitimate fan beef. Stuff's gotta be fixed, and we'll be there next game.

I think the Florida team we beat in week 2 was 1 of the two toughest games on our schedule not Va Tech but other than that agree with post. Also not on the fire Coach D bandwagon train. Obviously adjustments and a infusion of better talent is needed. Addition by subtraction in some cases. Still can't trash these kids. Again I say they stood with the U in the worst of times and I will stand with them in this time. Any explanation sounds like an excuse right now. I think that when you put a handful of Mac players next to a handful of 4&5 star players the 4&5 star players can look ordinary. There are just some players in significant roles that shouldn't be playing. We all agree there. We do need to change our scheme and play the future. Rain or shine, top 10 rank or top 20, consecutive wins or consecutive losses, tens of thousands of empty seats and a nasty base of fans that craps all over their team with every loss, while endlessly bragging about a legacy brand. Its flat out odd. Just read an article where nick saban is concerned because a full very large house on weekends is half empty by the end of many games because their team scores big on many of their opponents early on. Flew in from St.Louis specifically for this game as well, stood in the rain until after the Alma Mater, watched V-Tech celebrate with their fans in our stadium. You want to know the only thing that made me smile after the game.......the Celtics beat the Heat! I think I stand with this team pretty firmly if u ask me. The atmosphere and the fans that were in the stadium in my eyes were passionate die hard Cane fans, covered in Canes gear, dancing in the rain, making enough noise to make up for atleast 10 empty seats a piece. We had more energy than our players and coaches it seemed like. I had a great time outside of watching the product on the field, and I can't wait to come back, rain or shine. But like I was telling some guys around me, it's just unbelievable that this kind of play continues to plague us. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Some of our coaches are more insane than our fans.

Nobody shows up to the games, everyone leaves at the first sign of trouble in the 4Q, and whenever we have a bad game everyone freaks out bc they think we should automatically kill every team. Yeah we played like sh*t....oh well, were 7-2 and we've come a long way under Al.this site sure does bring out the delusional idiots. Some of the crap I've read on here since last night is awful and downright dumb. I'm sticking with our team and coach for the long haul. Fvck all u fair weather fans.

I agree with you! Rain or shine, top 10 rank or top 20, consecutive wins or consecutive losses, tens of thousands of empty seats and a nasty base of fans that craps all over their team with every loss, while endlessly bragging about a legacy brand. Its flat out odd. Just read an article where nick saban is concerned because a full very large house on weekends is half empty by the end of many games because their team scores big on many of their opponents early on. Saban's biggest concern? The effect on team moral and RECRUITING!! Thats right, recruiting!! What 5 star recruit wants to play college football in an empty stadium all year? Its not what dreams are made of, thats for sure.

i was at the game and sat in that **** show. I'm at every game and been to both in state away games. i do one out of state road game as well every year. the OP needs to shut the **** up and get his *** down here. u wonder why ppl don't show up? its bc of the pathetic display that team put on last night.

Hey man I'm as big of a fan as anybody else on here and I'm just as ****ed about these past few weeks as anyone but I just don't get how after a 2 game stretch Golden has gone from God to Lucifer to a lot of posters on here. People are over reacting! I'm not denying that we've f*cked up a lot this season and yeah, a lot of that falls on the staff. But everyone needs to calm the F down. GOLDEN himself throughout this season has repeatedly insisted we are still a long ways away from being where we need to. Too many chumps drank too much of the kool aid. Be patient

i wasnt one of the retards that r saying to fire golden and garbage like that. I'm saying that the problems we are having on D since ACC Play started and really over the last 3 years is because of golden and dorito equally. they both believe in this scheme and both of them r in charge of making the game easier for them if they can't get this scheme. they have to put these guys in a position where they can succeed and slow the game down for em. instead we do the opposite and we see the results. same mistakes occur week in and week out.

Fans, by nature, use sports as an escape. It removes all the responsibility and accountability that they have to deal with on a daily basis. You're never going to hear a fan say that they should be a better fan. Ever.

Yeah, the fanbase leaves a bit to be desired, but it's never gonna change. Let it go and move on.
