It's Time

Wait, so one of the guys who excused our horrendous defense over the last two seasons with excuses such as "our best players were too young" and "you can't expect freshmen to make such a big impact," is now touting incoming freshmen as one of the reasons we will beat FSU?

Oh lawd I done seen it all.

fsu definitely has some talent coming back the obvious and most important is winston who is the difference maker but i think that people just throw " future 1st round draft pick" around way too much. too many unknown players emerge every season and the nfl combine for people to say that about every guy with potential and some recruiting stars on his name

Fsu is very beatable this year. They don't have near the weapons as last year on both sides. With telvin Smith, lamarcus Joyner gone and Freeman, and Benjamin gone they are very beatable. It sucks most of their stars came from our backyard.

Before they won the title this year they lost a school record 11 to the NFL Draft. All they did was re-load with studs from past recruiting class. And we have idiots on this board that claim losing big-time recruits doesn't matter. Look at FSU as why it does.

Anyone who thinks we beat them next year is retarded.

FSU has a talent advantage and coaching advantage. Why should we expect to beat them? We don't even have the home-field advantage.

Agree theres no way we beat them until we recruit better than them, if u follow just cane recruiting u have those shades on. Theres no way we r beating them 4 awhile until i see things changing on the recruiting front. Until then they will smash us yearly it is what it is, it sx but what can we do.

Its not an argument, its a question because the dumb **** you say sometimes lead me to believe you hate the canes more then life itself.

What did he say that was dumb? The facts say that FSU has superior talent and coaching. That isn't disputable; therefore, it isn't dumb. FSU is 3-1 vs. Miami at Sun Life. In my opinion, Sun Life provides us very little to none home field advantage. No team is intimidated nor concern about that stadium. Again, what did he say that was dumb?

Whats Dumb is to declare a lost to an unproven FSU team, we have just as much talent as they do on both sides of the ball, this is not the Stephen Morris and Tyrone Cornelius show. we have play makers coming in that we have yet to see in pads. the scrubs have moved on and the talent got better. yeah we are 3-1 in Sun Life, but our talent has been less than Hurricane quality. for me to sit here and say, oh well, they have the better team and we will just lose is dumb as **** and that ****!ng loser mentality. now Jimbo is a great coach in my opinion and he does everything to get the job done. FSU has simply been FSU and us Canes have not played like Canes. We will beat FSU this year. FSU will have 3 losses this year.

Lulz, FSU is loaded next year. Their secondary and DL is beastly. On offense they will have a solid OL, great stable of backs, one excellent receiver in Greene and the best player in CFB in Winston. We have a fighting chance because it is at home and anything can happen in a rivalry game but you are crazy if you think we match up overall. Sure we have players here and there that match up but for the most part we don't. You must have been one of those guys that agreed in with Zone last year that thought Winston was overrated, FSU's secondary was suspect and that we had a better DL than them, huh?

Karlos williams is a great back but everyone else is unproven including Dalvin Cook .

Our Dline was horrible but with Wyche and Heurtelou, I am way more confident in our Dline this year.

You're feeling confident because of 2-3* players that hasn't played yet while totally discrediting their 2-5* and 1-4* rbs because they're unproven?

Prayers sent...

all im going to say is heurtelou is going to surprise some people

FSU is losing a lot. And unlike last season they're not replacing them with better players.
Compare that to us that we're replacing the outgoing players with better players and you have a recipe for an evenly matched rivalry game.
And when you take in to account that last year we went toe to toe with them for a half and until Duke went down we were in striking distance I like our chances. Even in 2012 with that disparity in talent we still competed until our lack of depth got exposed.
Only the limp wrists on this board are writing us off.

We're not even on their level recruiting wise/coaching. I'll wait until I see both teams play when the season starts before making predictions but if we're looking at the most recent product put on the field by both teams, FSU wins by 20+.

QB: FSU
RB: FSU depth wise.
WR: Miami
TE: FSU
OL: FSU

DL: FSU
LB: Miami
CB: push. Darby/Ramsey/PJ = Tracy/Gunter/Burns.
S: Miami

they would need to have a subpar game like they have had against us recently and we would need to play perfect, which i dont know what that means or looks like as it hasnt happened since blacksburg 05

We were down 21 points when Duke was hurt at the end of the 3rd quarter. Lmao If you call that within striking distance for Morris at QB against the #1 rated pass defense.

they've been loading up for years. they lost like 8 or 9 to the NFL last year. didnt matter.

we wont beat FSU as long as F.A.G. is here. book it

Yeah they lost alot player on defense that year not offense. this year they lose both. the the talent drop off its way further then it was for 2012 team to 2013 team.

Lol

Lol

Keep dreaming bud.

FSU lost the Center, 1st and 3rd string RB, and 2 WRs.

FSU should have the best OL in the country with 4 NFL picks returning (Erving, matius, and Jackson are top prospcects at their position), the guy who finished 2nd for the Mackey award at TE, the best player in college at QB, and 4 RBs with big time NfL futures.

Freeman was solid but not elite, Wilder was a solid big back, but lost reps to Karlos as the season progressed. Karlos William, Pender, and Cook are freaks. Ryan Green was the top APB 2 years ago on rivals, and can also play slot. FSU is loaded at RB.

Offense is loaded. Losing Benjamin hurts, but Travis Rudolph steps in right away as a Rashaad Greene clone, and Lane will get a chance for Benjamin's reps if he is ready.

Defense will be weaker at DT with Jernigan gone and some possible Med DQs pending.. At safety Tyler Hunter takes Brooks spot (Hunter was the starting safety last year until he got injured), Trey Marshall will take Joyners Nickel spot (already on Campus, similar player to Joyner, clocked at 4.36 at the Nike Sparq camp)

Losing Telvin, Christian Jones, and Joyner hurts, but they are being replaced by studs.

Matthew Thomas is up to 240 LBs and will step in for an inconsistent C. Jones as the Jack Linebacker that primarily rushes but can also cover WRs and TEs at an elite level. There are six 4 and 5 star LBs fighting for Telvins spot.

FSU runs primarily a 3-3-5 or 4-2-5 depending on how the Jack lines up.

DE Mario Edwards can play the 5 in many situations. he and DT Eddie Goldman are future 1st round picks.

FSU loses leadership on defense and may be weaker at DT, but overall is a very strong team. You guys have to wait to next year to have a chance, that's when FSu could lose 80%+ of its starters. Ll

Injuries at DT, WR, or losing a player like Mario Edwards or Winston could definetely even out the game but the talent level and coaching talent between both teams is still too big.

I won't argue that FSU will not be good next season. Of course they will. But you speak of them like they are the 72 Dolphins, 01 Canes or 92 Dream Team.

Eddie Goldman is a first rounder? Matthew Thomas is all of a sudden ready? Lane and Rudolph will step in and replace KB? Ah, Freeman is average at best, right? Did you see him last year against Miami?

I'd be crazy to pick Miami over FSU right now. But at least I'm not a ******* moron. Every fan base needs a DannyBoy, I guess.

We will beat them in 2015 when Jameis is gone (hopefully Golden and Dorito as well), and Olsen is starting for us.

We will get outclassed this season. I have seen absolutely nothing so far to suggest we can hang the #1 team in the country. They actually recruit DTs in case you haven't heard.

Hey, we recruit DTs! Ok, mostly they sign somewhere else but we recruit them.

I don't understand why people say we dont match up... we match up well with them... the only positions we dont match well is DT and QB... and I understand those two positions are critical and game chasers. But I think we match up well with them over all.

Hey it has been a while since we scalped the noles, but the day will come. Last year we had a shot at them. End of first half they there was disorder on their sideline -- just like the good old days. They remember what happen in close games against the Canes. No team in American has gotten flipped over and a.. raped at the last second than our feathered friends. They remember.

If we had a Dorsey at QB, with a little better OC, the first drive of the 2nd half might have been a TD instead of 3 and out. Then they would have folded like their dna told them too. We were short a couple players, but more importantly we were short some half time coaching adjustments. Like it or not, we got a coaching staff that has a lot of members still training for the big time. Talent on the field this year will be closer. We have a game manager and 2 slingers for QBs. I like Williams against criminoles because he uses the TE right. They never have been able to cover TEs and are still weak at it. Duke had almost a 100 in little over half. We need a Miami QB.

Al hated gator coaches. I expect he is not liking old dumbo and staff after last year and the comments since. I have issues with Al, but he ruined gator season last year and it was very personal for him. Let's hope he has same hate going for criminoles this year. Further, his massive fall from grace came at the hands of other coaches he "respects". Maybe, just maybe, he learned that respecting you opposition is not as effective as hating the sight of them. Golden needs this game this year to restart his career. He is too smart to not know that after his PSU mommy slapped his rear and adopted a strange kid instead.

I think we take those chumps this year and begin a new chapter in the their trail of tears. I see Chad picking up one of the nfl olinemen and tossing him on Rapist. I see Rapist getting hit more and picked more. They could not cover Coley last year. This year we have some qbs to throw the ball.

Wow, you guys have heck of a team. You must be really ****ed off that last year was the first time you got the gold. ****, when we had teams with that talent we were a dynasty that rained our your sad, sorry rears just about ever year for over a decade when you had great talent too. We have not had crap for some time and you just now got a NC. How sad. Shouldn't you have gotten 3 or 4 the last six years. I mean 2 1st round qb picks -- **** we haven't had a qb go 1st round since Walsh and that was supplemental draft.

Enjoy yourselves, with all the gator type rape, steal, shoot players Jimbo is collecting, you might not be able to travel out of Tally soon. You know, just like the gator can't leave the judiciary protection of the swamp. Well, at least the total of yours and the gators NCs now exceed THE U's alone. Of course that counting Bobby's first one which was a pure pity title you should have never played in.

Only the limp wrists on this board are writing us off.

A healthy Duke Johnson in last year's game wasn't going to save us. We were outscored 20-0 in the second half; they ran a train on us.

And they can thank their depth, which ours simply could not match. There was no way we could keep up with that team for 4 quarters.

They also have coaches that make these things called "adjustments." I can't entirely blame you for forgetting or simply not knowing this concept, as we haven't seen it from a Miami coaching staff in years, particularly from the staffs Golden has assembled (maybe Jedd Fisch excluded).

With the way they have recruited and the way they develop players, why is this suddenly going to change?

We keep up with them for 2 quarters in 2013 and suddenly, we're ready to go toe-to-toe with this team in 2014? By that logic we'll be on upset alert against Duke, VaTech, Georgia Tech, and North Carolina next year, just in the conference.

Are you even a Cane Fan?

This is the dumbest argument of all time.

Because I look at our situation realistically I must not be a fan.

Its not an argument, its a question because the dumb **** you say sometimes lead me to believe you hate the canes more then life itself.

Not saying this won't happen - but, it would be a first for Golden. In 8 years as a HC he has only one win over a team with fewer than 5 losses, and that was over Navy when Al was at Temple.
